A key member of the Finance Team, you will work cross-functionally to drive procurement policy, approval workflows, and make sure every dollar we spend is validated, budgeted, and well negotiated. If you are looking to continue your career in the technology industry, are full of energy, like working in a fluid and fast-paced environment and have excellent attention to detail, then we should speak.\nIn This Role, You Will\nOwn, document, and maintain Solace’s procurement policy, including purchasing thresholds, approval requirements, and vendor selection standards;\nBuild and maintain purchase requisition and approval workflows in NetSuite;\nPartner with all departments on purchasing, including cloud infrastructure, software subscriptions and renewals, marketing programs, professional fees, training, IT equipment and facilities;\nWork with requisitioners to validate spend requirements and assess each request against budget and forecast;\nNegotiate vendor terms, including pricing and discounts, renewals, term length, payment terms, billing frequency, and annual increases;\nWork closely with the Legal team and our contract management tool to keep existing contracts, renewals, and amendments current, and ensure Legal review before signing;\nResearch, identify, and track government grants, tax credits, and other funding programs that could offset eligible costs, and work with Finance and requestors to support applications and documentation;\nIdentify unused, duplicate, and shadow-IT software licenses to drive cost savings and consolidation;\nTrack and report on spend, savings achieved, spend under management, and policy compliance to Finance leadership;\nTrain requisitioners on the purchasing process and maintain simple guides and procedures;\nSpecial projects as assigned\nWhat You’ll Bring to the Role\n3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, vendor management, or a related finance role is a must;\nProven track record of researching market pricing and standard discount levels for each type of purchase (goods or services) to validate the buyer is paying at or below market standard;\nDemonstrated success negotiating vendor pricing and terms, with measurable savings achieved (e.g., reductions at renewal, discounts secured, or terms improved);\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel experience is a must;\nNetSuite purchasing and approval workflow experience is preferred;\nExperience purchasing software/SaaS, IT equipment, marketing programs, and professional services is preferred;\nPost-secondary degree in business, finance, or supply chain;\nExperience using AI-enabled productivity and analytical tools (e.g., Claude) to enhance spend analysis, contract review, reporting, and process automation is a plus;\nExperience with multi-national vendors and cross-border taxes is a plus;\nHigh attention to accuracy and detail in working processes and reports;\nExcellent written and oral communication skills;\nYou must be able to work onsite in Kanata two days per week, Tuesday & Wednesday\nWhy You’ll Love Working at Solace\nAt Solace, we’re all about smart people, meaningful work, and good vibes.\nWork with brilliance- Our team is packed with some of the sharpest minds in the industry.\nBalance matters- We believe work should fit into your life, not the other way around.\nHybrid-first- Flexibility is built into how we work, so everyone feels included and empowered.\nValues-driven- We live and breathe our core values: craftsmanship, trust, courage, freedom, momentum, humility, and human experience.\nGrowth mindset- Our training programs are designed to help you level up, fast.\nCustomer Obsessed- We’re proud of our world-class customer lineup (we’re not shy about it).\nKeep it fun- We’re social, we keep things simple, and we know how to have a good time.\nCreative culture- We’ve got a great sense of humour and we make cool videos on topics like MITT and this (check them out!).\nRole Status: NEW\nExpected Salary Range: Expected salary range for this role is from $65,000-$75,000.
