Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.\nThis position is responsible for the robust assembly of overhauled turbomachinery products, specifically small body rotating, to satisfy schedule and customer requirements on various production models in a safe and effective manner. The position is required to utilize Solar’s standard production computer applications to complete assigned jobduties/responsibilities.\n What you will do:\nPerform the operations necessary for the assembly of Solar’s small body rotating components in a manner that aligns with standards for safety, quality, velocity, and cost.\n\nWork from standard work instructions, engineering drawings, oral instructions, and established shop practices.\n\nMay perform work operations under direct guidance where adequate information has not yet been determined and/or furnished.\n\nRecognize the need for Engineering support when given procedures will not work or the quality of components is questioned.\n\nEmbrace safety culture and identify safety improvements to reduce risk of injury or incident in the work area.\n\nWork with team members, other technicians, and/or Engineering to solve technical problems.\n\nMaintain training binder and records.\n\nPerform material routing and movement of rotating sub-assemblies, and other material in compliance with material handling, movement, and storage procedures.\n\nReport and record discrepancies and incidents utilizing Solar’s standard applications.\n\nMaintain records and ensure proper documentation of assembly or repairs per the Quality Management System (QMS).\n\nUse all types of precision measuring instruments and devices, hand and power tools, shop equipment and machinery as assigned.\n\nMaintain a clean and orderly workspace to promote safety, Solar’s 5S culture, and prevent FOD.\n\nWork individually and in teams to support production needs and continuous improvement projects.\n\nWork in a teaming environment by attending and participating in team meetings, supporting established team business goals, and adhering to the team’s ground rules and norms.\n\nWork required hours as requested to meet production and customer needs.\n\nDemonstrate proficient skill with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, drop micrometers, bore micrometers, etc.).\n\nOperate shop equipment, material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.), bench and hand tools, test equipment and controls as well as machines and inspection equipment in an overhaul environment.\n\nPerform rework of the nature and level of difficulty described herein.\n\n What you will have:\nProven experience in the Solar Turbines Manufacturing Environment\n\nStrong Mechancial Aptitude\n\nA successful candidate will be expected to flex within the value stream and learn all operations/models in the SB Rotating LWC to support a strategy of employee growth and “One Team” philosophy.\n\nThe candidate will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with fellow shop floor personnel, planners, and supporting departments (supply chain, materials, engineering, business/project management, etc.).\n\nThey will be self-driven and able to balance concurrent tasks while keeping their leadership informed on risks and progress.\n\nThey will be seeking an operations opportunity, find enjoyment in the daily challenges of manufacturing, a commitment to teamwork, an unwavering duty to the customer, a keen sense of urgency, and a willingness to learn.\n\nThis Job Description is intended as a general guide to the job duties for this position and is intended for the purpose of establishing the specific salary grade.
