We acquire proven, profitable businesses and partner with founders and management teams to build enduring market leaders.\nUnlike traditional private equity firms, we invest with permanent capital, focusing on sustainable growth and long-term value creation rather than short-term financial engineering.\nThe Opportunity\nWe're looking for a motivated and curious M&A Intern\nto join our Corporate Development team in Lisbon and support Solen's expansion across Europe.\nYou'll gain hands-on exposure to the M&A lifecycle, from sourcing software businesses and engaging with founders to evaluating acquisition opportunities and supporting live transactions.\nWorking directly with experienced Corporate Development professionals, you'll take ownership of meaningful projects and develop valuable commercial and analytical skills.\nKey Responsibilities\nDeal Origination: Identify, research, and screen potential B2B software acquisition targets across Europe.\nMarket Research: Analyse software verticals, competitive landscapes, and attractive niche markets.\nFounder Engagement: Support outreach and relationship-building with founders, entrepreneurs, investment bankers, and advisors.\nPipeline Management: Maintain accurate CRM records, track acquisition opportunities, and support deal progression.\nInvestment Analysis: Evaluate business models, financial performance, recurring revenue, customer retention, and growth opportunities.\nFinancial Modelling: Assist with valuation analyses, financial models, and investment assessments.\nInvestment Materials: Prepare company profiles, market maps, investment summaries, and internal presentations.\nTransaction Support: Assist with due diligence, analyse company information, and participate in meetings with founders and advisors.\nWho We're Looking For\nCurrently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.\nStrong interest in M&A, corporate development, private equity, technology, and entrepreneurship.\nAnalytical, detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable taking initiative.\nFamiliarity with Excel and basic financial statements.\nStrong communication skills in English; additional European languages are a plus.\nHigh level of ownership, curiosity, and willingness to learn.\nPrevious experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or business development is advantageous but not required.\nWhat You'll Gain\nHands-on experience across real M&A transactions and acquisition opportunities.\nDirect mentorship from experienced Corporate Development professionals.\nExposure to software investing, financial analysis, and long-term value creation.\nMeaningful responsibility within a lean, international team.\nA strong foundation for a career in M&A, private equity, or corporate development.\nSolen-isms (How We Operate)\nOwnership Mindset: We own the mission.
