Our customers run their day-to-day operations on our systems, and they count on us to understand their business, not just the software.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are looking for a senior, hands-on developer who enjoys working directly with customers. Your first priority will be clearing DTEC's development backlog and stabilising the product. From there, you will deliver customer projects (customisations, reports, integrations and enhancements) for DTEC customers and for Shea's SYSPRO customers.\nMost of your time will be billable customer work, with real ownership of scope, estimates and delivery dates. You will also help move DTEC onto our modern stack (Vue, TypeScript, Node.js and PostgreSQL).\nKey Responsibilities\nBacklog and product stability (first priority)\nWork through the DTEC development backlog with engineering leadership, agreeing scope and dates for each item.\nInvestigate and fix defects in the DTEC product, including legacy Visual FoxPro code.\nImprove release quality and reduce repeat support issues.\nCustomer projects\nGather requirements with customers, estimate effort and agree scope before work starts.\nDevelop, test and deploy customisations, reports, data fixes and integrations for DTEC and Shea customers, including SYSPRO work.\nGive customers regular, clear status updates and manage change requests.\nTrack time accurately against projects for monthly billing.\nModernisation\nBuild and maintain components on our modern stack (Vue, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL) as DTEC modernises.\nWays of working\nUse Jira and Git, document your changes and hand over cleanly to support.\nShare knowledge and set good practices for other developers.\nWhat You Bring\nRequired\n5+ years developing or customising ERP or business software, including customer-facing project work.\nVisual FoxPro development experience.\nProduction experience with Vue.js, TypeScript, Node.js and PostgreSQL.\nStrong SQL and data skills.\nExperience estimating work and delivering to agreed dates; comfortable with billable, time-tracked work.\nClear written and verbal communication with non-technical customers.\nLegally authorized to work in Canada; set up for remote work.\nNice to Have\nSYSPRO development or customisation experience.\nAndroid or Xamarin.\nDistribution, food & beverage or manufacturing industry experience.\nReport writing (e.g., Crystal Reports, SSRS) and ERP integration experience.\nJira.\nHow Success Is Measured\nReduction in the open development backlog\nBillable utilisation\nProjects delivered on time and within estimate\nQuality of fixes (reopened defects, regressions)\nCustomer satisfaction\nCompensation and Benefits\nBase salary of CAD 100,000-120,000, depending on experience\nBenefits, PTO and other programs\nFully remote work with a collaborative, experienced team\nRecruitment Disclaimer\nSolen Software Group will never request payment, banking information, or other sensitive personal or financial details during any stage of the recruitment process.
