Chemical Industry\nSalary range: 35000 - 42000 EUR per annum\nLocation: North Italy\nPosition Overview\nSolenis is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer & Technical Support Specialist to support customers and commercial activities across the South Europe region, with a primary focus on Italy.\nThis position is ideal for a hands-on technical professional with a strong electromechanical background, experience in Food & Beverage and Industrial Water Treatment applications, and proven ability to manage customer relationships, service activities, and technical-commercial proposals.\nThe successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of customer installations while supporting business growth through technical expertise and solution-oriented service.\nThis is a hybrid position based in Northern Italy, requiring regular travel throughout the territory.\nKey Responsibilities\nAs a Field Service Engineer & Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:\nPerforming installation, start-up, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on industrial water treatment equipment and dosing systems at customer sites.\nProviding technical support and diagnostics, both remotely and on-site, ensuring rapid resolution of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process-related issues.\nConducting preventive maintenance inspections and recommending improvements to optimize equipment reliability and performance.\nSupporting customers operating in Food & Beverage and Industrial Water Treatment applications.\nAssessing customer needs and identifying opportunities for equipment upgrades, retrofits, and optimization projects.\nPreparing technical and commercial quotations for equipment, spare parts, service interventions, maintenance contracts, and system upgrades.\nCoordinating service activities with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely execution.\nSupporting the Sales and Account Management teams with technical expertise during customer visits and project development.\nPreparing service reports, technical documentation, equipment assessments, and maintenance recommendations.\nEnsuring compliance with Solenis safety standards and customer site requirements during all field activities.\nSupporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the growth of Solenis' Equipment and Solutions business.\nThe Ideal Candidate\nWe are looking for a customer-focused and technically skilled professional with:\nA degree or technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.\n3-7 years of experience in Field Service, Technical Support, Maintenance Engineering, or Equipment Service roles within industrial environments.\nStrong electromechanical troubleshooting skills, including electrical systems, motors, pumps, dosing equipment, instrumentation, and process equipment.\nExperience within Water Treatment, Food & Beverage, Utilities, Process Industry, or related sectors.\nKnowledge of industrial water treatment technologies, chemical dosing systems, filtration systems, pumping equipment, and process instrumentation.\nExperience in preparing and managing technical and commercial offers, service quotations, and project cost estimations.\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.\nFamiliarity with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems.\nGood understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements in industrial facilities.\nStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.\nFluency in Italian and a good command of English.\nAvailability to travel approximately 50-60% of the time within Italy\nValid driving license.\nPersonal Skills\nStrong customer orientation and service mindset.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.\nCommercial awareness and ability to identify business opportunities through technical interactions.\nProactive, flexible, and results-driven attitude.\nNice to have\nPrevious experience with Food & Beverage production plants, CIP systems, utilities, and process water applications.\nKnowledge of reverse osmosis, filtration, softening, disinfection, and industrial wastewater treatment systems.\nExperience with digital monitoring platforms, remote diagnostics, and connected industrial equipment.\nProject coordination and contractor management experience.\nSolenis is an equal opportunity employer.
