The Financial Analyst will understand the drivers behind performance, identify risks and opportunities, challenge the business constructively, and translate financial and operational information into clear actions for management.\nThe key responsibilities:\nBusiness performance analysis:\nAnalyse monthly financial and operational performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.\n\nProvide detailed variance analysis explaining what happened, why it happened and what management can do about it.\n\nAnalyse:\no Revenue and volume performance\no Gross profit and gross-margin %\no Price, volume and mix\no Customer and product profitability\no Sales-channel performance\no Cost performance and operating leverage\no EBITDA performance\nIdentify emerging risks and opportunities and quantify their potential P&L and cash impact.\n\nDevelop concise management insights and recommendations for CFO and cluster leadership.\n\nDemand and seasonality analysis.\n\nBudgeting and forecasting:\nSupport the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes.\n\nWork closely with Sales, Commercial, Operations and Finance to develop robust assumptions.\n\nMaintain rolling forecasts for the cluster.\n\nAnalyse deviations between actual results, forecast and budget.\n\nChallenge assumptions and ensure forecasts appropriately reflect current trading conditions.\n\nSupport scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis.\n\nAssist with OPEX and CAPEX planning.\n\nCommercial finance and decision support:\nAct as a finance partner to commercial and operational management.\n\nEvaluate pricing decisions, new products, customer opportunities and commercial initiatives.\n\nDevelop financial models and business cases to support investment decisions.\n\nAssess profitability by customer, product, channel and business segment.\n\nMonitor actual performance of approved initiatives against the original business case.\n\nProvide rapid ad-hoc analysis to management when commercial decisions are required.\n\nWorking capital and cash:\nAnalyse and monitor inventory, receivables and payables.\n\nTrack working-capital performance and identify opportunities to release cash.\n\nAnalyse slow-moving and excess inventory.\n\nSupport inventory optimisation by connecting stock levels to sales forecasts and demand.\n\nReview customer collections and overdue-debt trends with the relevant teams.\n\nHighlight working-capital risks and opportunities through management reporting.\n\nTranslate changes in working capital into cash-flow implications.\n\nManagement reporting and business intelligence:\nPrepare clear monthly performance packs and dashboards.\n\nDevelop KPIs that provide early warning of changes in business performance.\n\nImprove the quality, consistency and usefulness of management reporting.\n\nWork with Finance and IT to improve data accuracy and reporting processes.\n\nUse ERP and analytical tools to extract, interrogate and reconcile financial and operational data.\n\nSupport continuous improvement and greater automation of reporting.\n\nProject evaluation:\nPrepare and critically review business cases for projects.\n\nAssess investment proposals using appropriate measures such as:\n\no ROI\no Payback\no NPV\no IRR\no Incremental EBITDA and cash flow\nPerform sensitivity and scenario analysis.\n\nTrack approved projects against actual expenditure and benefits realised.\n\nAssist management with post-investment reviews.\n\nMonth-end and financial performance support:\nWork closely with Financial Accounting to ensure management information accurately reflects business performance.\n\nReview monthly results for unusual movements and potential reporting issues.\n\nEnsure management reporting reconciles appropriately to financial reporting.\n\nAssist in identifying accruals, provisions and other adjustments where required.\n\nSupport decision-making without duplicating the core Financial Accounting function.\n\nIf you possess…\nMust-Have:\nGrade 12 (Matric).\n\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics or a related discipline.\n\nStrong financial modelling and analytical capability.\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel capability.\n\nCIMA / CGMA qualification or actively progressing toward qualification; or CA(SA) / ACCA or equivalent relevant professional qualification.\n\nExperience using ERP and BI/reporting tools.\n\n3-5 years' relevant experience in FP&A, commercial finance, management accounting or financial analysis.\n\nExperience working in a manufacturing.\n\nDemonstrated exposure to budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and commercial analysis.\n\nExperience dealing with large datasets and converting them into management
