We are seeking applicants who will grow and thrive in our culture; be customer inspired, trusting, innovative, team-oriented, inclusive, results driven, collaborative, passionate, and flexible.\n What this role does: Supporting the creation of processes to evaluate internal engineering work for papers, white papers, and patents\nThe successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, research, operations, and business stakeholders to help establish the foundational processes of the Innovation Project Management Office (PMO). This office is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and structuring projects and ideas that can become intellectual capital such as technical publications, white papers, trade secrets, or patents.\nUsing gathered technical, market, and internal data, the intern will support the creation of frameworks to capture, assess, and track innovation initiatives across the organization. The role includes researching emerging technologies, documenting innovation opportunities, supporting idea intake processes, and helping define governance models for intellectual property and knowledge creation.\nIn addition to innovation management activities, this internship offers exposure to project management methodologies, technology scouting, competitive intelligence, and technical writing. The internship’s goal is to provide hands-on experience in building an innovation PMO from the ground up, with a strong emphasis on structured thinking, research, documentation, and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.\nWhat you will work on during your internship:\nReview requirements and standards for technical publications, white papers, and patents.\nDefine classification criteria to assess whether internal projects are publishable or patentable\nCreate step-by-step documentation and manuals for engineers and researchers.\nAnalyze existing internal research and map it to publication/IP pathways.\nSupport the setup of intake and review processes for innovation projects.\n Education\nCandidate must be actively enrolled in and pursuing a Master' s Degree program for the full 6 months of the internship.\nRecommended majors include (but are not limited to):\nEngineering (Industrial, Systems, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Mechatronics)\nInnovation Engineering\nApplied Sciences or Technology-related fields\nRequired Qualifications\nMust be able to work in our Guadalajara site\nStrong communication skills in both English and Spanish\nStrong research, analytical, and technical writing skills\nExperience in research and intellectual property programs\nAbility to synthesize complex technical information into structured documentation\nExperience with technical frameworks (Agile, Design Thinking, Technical Writing, Project Management, intellectual property)\nIntellectual Property concepts (patents, publications, trade secrets)\nFamiliarity with collaborative tools and document repositories\nSelf-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision\nInterest in innovation, intellectual property, and technology trends\nPreferred Qualifications\n6-month experience or academic exposure in one or more of the following areas:\nProject Management or PMO support\nInnovation management\nTechnology scouting or competitive analysis\nTechnical or academic writing\nProcess definition and documentation\nData analysis\nExperience in research and intellectual property programs\n Powered by SmartRecruiters -
