The successful candidate will lead complex validation, debugging, and failure analysis activities for enterprise Solid State Drives (SSDs). This role will work closely with validation, firmware and architecture teams to ensure world-class product quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. The engineer will be responsible for driving root cause investigations of issues from validation and integration failures, defining debug strategies, improving validation methodologies, and influencing future product designs through data-driven insights. The role requires technical expertise in storage technologies, deep system-level debugging, and validation engineering. In addition to validation activities, the candidate will contribute to automation initiatives, debug tool development, test framework improvements, and advanced analytics solutions that increase engineering efficiency and accelerate issue resolution.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in validation, debug, product engineering, firmware development, or related engineering roles.
- Strong experience debugging complex hardware, firmware, software, and system-level issues.
- Understanding of SSD architecture, NAND Flash technologies, and enterprise storage solutions.
- Hands-on experience with PCIe, NVMe, and storage protocol analysis.
- Experience analyzing crash dumps, and hardware captures to determine root cause.
- Strong Linux troubleshooting and system administration skills.
- Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, Perl, or similar languages.
- Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead technical investigations and drive cross-functional teams toward issue resolution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work onsite at our Zapopan location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with enterprise SSD validation, qualification, or product development.
- Knowledge of PCIe analyzers, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, and hardware debug tools.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on PCIe, NVMe, firmware, and platform-related failures.
- Understanding of system firmware (BIOS/UEFI), BMC, Linux kernel behavior, and server architectures.
- Experience with UART and hardware signal analysis.
- Familiarity with qualification methodologies, reliability testing, and failure mode analysis.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted debugging, Machine Learning applications, and advanced analytics techniques.
