The Staff Accountant takes a hands-on approach translating business information into the financial statements and communicating that information at various levels in the organization. Thriving in a remote, fast-paced, dynamic environment, the Staff Accountant supports our Finance department. This role plays an instrumental part in bringing clean, affordable, and modern energy to the world. \nOur ideal candidate will be responsible for the following: \nPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES \nPerform all month end closing processes including but not limited to: recording journal entries, variance analysis, and ensuring all entries are properly recorded\nAssist in the integrity of the accounting policies and overall financial statements including the review of accounts for discrepancies and reconciling differences\nCollaborate within accounting team and with cross-functional teams to ensure proper accounting is in place for various transactions and entries such as accruals, reserves, prepaid positions, fixed assets, and right of use assets\nConduct monthly reconciliations on various types of accounts such as inventory, freight, bad debt, rebates and taxes\nSupport in preparing schedules, requests, and information to support internal and external audits\nPrepare intercompany reconciliations, cross charges, and elimination entries \nResponsible for running trial balance and conducting analysis to ensure GL accounts are accurate and complete during close\nSupport cash management - working with bank and assisting in forecasting cash positions\nSolid working knowledge of accounting principles in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)\nSupporting the training and on-boarding of new hires within the team and documenting processes. \nManage sales tax certificates within SOVOS and tax account reconciliations \nEnsure fixed assets are properly accounted for in accounting system including acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation\nExperience with establishing, writing, or documenting policies and improving processes \nAssume day-to-day accounting operations duties including validating proper coding and determining appropriate accounting treatment\nOther duties as assigned \nQUALIFICATIONS \nAbility to work Eastern Standard Time\nFamiliarity with basic business principles, corporate structures, accounting standards, and financial statements \nAbility to review and interpret general ledger accounts \nAcute attention to detail \nCommitment to excellence and high standards \nHigh level of organizational skills \nTo respond courteously and promptly to upper management or business inquiries \nExcellent communication and follow through skills\nTo express a professional demeanor when representing the Company \nVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to act as a change agent in concert with leadership and relevant stakeholders\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills \nVersatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm \nAct as a flexible and innovative team player \nSelf-motivated and able to collaborate with others as well as work independently. \nAbility to adhere to deadlines and shift priorities when needed \nGood communication skills and the ability to explain accounting concepts in simple language to diverse audiences \nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE \nBachelor's degree in accounting or other business field with 3-5 years’ experience. \nMBA or MA in Accounting, CMA or CPA preferred. \nProficient in Excel and Word, ERP Experience \nBENEFITS\nMedical, Dental, Vision, 401K, HSA, FSA, Flexible PTO, Birth Leave, Bonding Leave\nSalary Range: $75,000 -
