Solita is helping organizations move from experimenting with AI and machine learning to using them as a meaningful part of their business and operations. Our customers' opportunities span traditional machine learning, optimization, computer vision, generative AI and intelligent agents. Turning these opportunities into solutions that work reliably in production requires much more than choosing the right technology.
In this role, you’ll work closely with our customers’ business and technology experts to understand their challenges, identify where AI or machine learning can create meaningful value, and determine what should actually be built. You then take promising use cases from exploration and prototyping into production, where they become part of real business processes and everyday work.
AI coding agents are naturally used in your daily work. You’ll give them clear specifications, provide the right context, and ensure the quality and reliability of what is produced. While AI helps accelerate development, you remain responsible for delivering solutions that work in production and create real business value.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customer domain experts to identify high-value AI/ML opportunities, define measurable success criteria, and validate where AI can create meaningful business impact.
- Turn ambiguous business challenges into concrete solution approaches, rapidly testing ideas and taking the most promising use cases from exploration into production.
- Design, build, and integrate production-grade AI/ML solutions using approaches such as machine learning, optimization, computer vision, LLMs, or intelligent agents, depending on the problem.
- Establish the engineering practices required for reliable AI/ML in production, including evaluation, testing, monitoring, CI/CD, and code review.
- Deploy, operate, and continuously improve AI/ML solutions, investigating unexpected behaviour, performance issues, or poor results and addressing their root causes. Make pragmatic technical decisions around architecture, scalability, security, reliability, cost, and responsible AI, while effectively communicating trade-offs to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Work together with account leadership and sales to identify opportunities to expand initial engagements, bringing in the right Solita experts across AI, data, software, design and cloud as customer needs evolve
What helps you succeed in this role
- Hands-on experience designing, building, deploying, and operating AI/ML solutions in production environments.
- Strong understanding of modern AI/ML technologies and the ability to choose the most appropriate approach for a given problem.
- Experience in one or more areas such as machine learning, optimization, computer vision, LLM applications, or agentic systems.
- Experience evaluating AI/ML systems and applying engineering practices such as testing, monitoring, CI/CD, MLOps/LLMOps, and guardrails.
- Strong Python skills and solid software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or GitHub Copilot, and the ability to review, debug, and improve generated code.
- Understanding of the data, cloud, and platform foundations required for scalable AI/ML solutions, including experience with technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Azure AI services, or Snowflake.
- Comfort working with ambiguity and collaborating directly with customers, including the ability to translate business challenges into technical solutions and communicate technical trade-offs to both business and technology stakeholders.
- Fluent communication skills in English. Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
Additionally, we appreciate experience with:
- Infrastructure as code and cloud-native architectures for AI/ML solutions.
- Designing AI-enabled business processes, agent architectures, or human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Responsible AI, privacy, security, or governance considerations in production AI/ML systems.
What do we offer?
- The opportunity to build AI and machine learning solutions that solve real business problems, taking ideas from early exploration into systems customers rely on in their daily operations.
- A role at the intersection of AI/ML, software engineering and business understanding, where you’ll shape both what gets built and how it’s built together with customers.
- The chance to work across the full AI/ML landscape, from traditional machine learning, optimization and computer vision to LLMs and intelligent agents.
- A high level of autonomy and influence, from identifying promising opportunities to defining solution approaches and driving them all the way to production.
- The freedom to grow in the direction that interests you most, whether that’s AI/ML architectures, agentic systems, customer advisory work or building reusable AI/ML capabilities that become part of Solita's broader offering.
- A multidisciplinary community of experts, collaborating with AI Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Analytics Engineers, Cloud Architects, Designers and Software Developers.
- A culture built on trust, autonomy and low hierarchy, where you’re trusted to make decisions, take ownership and shape your own way of working.
- Flexible ways of working, whether from home, one of our offices across Finland, or together with customers when meaningful for the project.
- Comprehensive benefits that support both your work and well-being, including the devices of your choice, extensive occupational healthcare, in-house coaching, regular massages, hobby clubs and an active community.
We will discuss the exact scope and focus of your role based on your experience, skills, and interests. Depending on your experience and level of responsibility, your fixed monthly salary will range from €6,500 to €7,200, with the opportunity to earn an additional performance-based bonus of up to €1,500 per month.
