Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and optimize performance. You will report directly to our Sr R&O Maintenance Manager and you’ll work out of our Orange, TX location on a Onsite work schedule.\nAs a Sr Reliability Engineer here at Solstice, you will be a driving force in ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of our products. Leading a skilled team of reliability engineers, you will instill a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.\nThe Sr. Reliability Engineer is the site’s technical authority for equipment reliability, serving as the bridge between Maintenance Planning/Scheduling, Rotating and Fixed Equipment Engineering, and plant Operations. This role owns the reliability strategy for assigned equipment families - developing and refining PM/PdM programs, leading root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and driving corrective and preventive actions that reduce unplanned downtime. The Senior Maintenance Engineer maintains accurate SAP RISE technical master data (equipment records, BOMs, task lists, and maintenance plans), mentors less experienced engineers and technicians, and represents Maintenance in management of change (MOC), turnaround scope development, and capital project reviews. This is an individual-contributor role requiring deep technical judgment, cross-functional influence, and a relentless focus on moving the plant from reactive to proactive, world-class maintenance.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nReliability Engineering & Strategy\nOwn and continuously improve reliability strategies (PM/PdM frequencies, task content, and criticality rankings) for assigned rotating and/or fixed equipment families.\nLead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on significant equipment failures, chronic bad actors, and unplanned downtime events; drive corrective actions to closure.\nDevelop and maintain equipment criticality assessments (FMEA-based) to prioritize maintenance strategy investment and spare parts stocking levels.\nChampion predictive maintenance technologies - vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, and guided wave ultrasonic testing on buried piping - and translate findings into actionable work.\nAnalyze MTBF, PM compliance, and backlog trends to identify systemic reliability gaps and recommend targeted improvement plans.\nSAP RISE Technical Administration\nMaintain and audit equipment master data (IE01/IE02), functional location structure (IL01/IL02), and BOM accuracy (CS01/CS03) for assigned areas.\nBuild, revise, and standardize maintenance task lists (IA01/IA05) and maintenance items/plans (IP30/IP17) to reflect current best practice and OEM guidance.\nConfigure and monitor measuring points and counters (IK11/IK17) supporting condition-based and predictive maintenance programs.\nReview notification trends (IW29/IW28) and technical backlog (IW38) to identify recurring failure modes and planning gaps.\nPartner with Maintenance Planning to ensure job plans, task lists, and BOMs align with field-verified equipment configuration.\nTurnaround, Project & MOC Support\nDevelop technical scopes for turnarounds and major maintenance campaigns for assigned equipment, including inspection and repair specifications.\nRepresent Maintenance/Reliability in management of change (MOC) reviews, providing technical risk assessment on equipment or procedure modifications.\nSupport capital and reliability improvement project development, including cost justification, equipment specification review, and commissioning support.\nCoordinate with OEMs, engineering contractors, and NDE/NDT service providers on complex repairs and inspections.\nSafety, Quality & Compliance\nEnsure reliability programs and repair recommendations comply with OSHA process safety management (PSM), mechanical integrity, and site SOP requirements.\nReview PM/PDM completion quality in the field; escalate recurring deficiencies and coach crews on procedure adherence.\nSupport incident investigations and quality escapes involving equipment failure, providing technical root cause input.\nEnsure job packages and repair procedures (per JPS-OR-001) reflect current engineering standards and lessons learned.\nMentorship & Technical Leadership\nServe as a technical mentor to Engineers-in-Training, junior engineers, and craft leads on reliability principles and troubleshooting methods.\nDeliver technical training on failure modes, PDM technologies, and SAP RISE best practices to planners, supervisors, and technicians.\nModel and reinforce a culture of accountability, best-practice execution, and continuous improvement across the maintenance organization.\nRecommend maintenance strategy and staffing adjustments to the Maintenance Manager based on reliability data and workload forecasts.\n Key ResponsibilitiesLead a team of reliability engineers to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of products\nDevelop and implement reliability engineering strategies, plans, and processes\nCollaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and resolve reliability issues throughout the product lifecycle\nAnalyze product failure data and implement corrective actions to improve product reliability\nConduct advanced reliability testing to validate and optimize product performance\nManage the reliability engineering budget and resources effectively\n YOU MUST HAVE\nBachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline required.\n7+ years of maintenance, reliability, or process engineering experience in a chemical, refining, or heavy industrial plant environment.\nDemonstrated experience with rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, gearboxes) and/or fixed equipment (piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers).\nWorking knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module; SAP RISE experience strongly preferred.\nExperience leading RCFA/RCA investigations and translating findings into sustained corrective action.\nCertifications & Licenses\nCertified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) preferred.\nAPI 510/570/653 inspection certification a plus for fixed-equipment-focused candidates.\nVibration analysis certification (Category I or II) a plus for rotating-equipment-focused candidates.\nOSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire).\nValid driver’s license\nWE VALUE\nStrong technical foundation in mechanical systems, materials, and failure mechanisms across rotating and/or fixed equipment.\nSkilled in root cause failure analysis methodologies (5-Why, fishbone, fault tree) and FMEA-based criticality assessment.\nDemonstrated ability to read and interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, vendor manuals, and engineering specifications.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams for data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional communication; Power BI experience a plus.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills; able to influence without direct authority across planning, operations, and craft teams.\nSound engineering judgment is under pressure, particularly during equipment failures, turnarounds, or emergency response situations.\nSkilled at balancing competing priorities - safety, reliability, cost, and schedule - in a fast-paced plant environment.\nCOMPENSATION\nThe annual base salary range for this position is $116,640K - $145,800K.
