The position offers the opportunity to contribute to development of polyurethane insulation materials and expand advanced material technologies in the market.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead technical service, product development, and growth initiatives in polyurethane foam insulation applications\nServe as a subject matter expert in polyurethane foam formulation, processing, and blowing agent technologies\nDesign, execute, and interpret experiments related to polyurethane raw materials, formulations, and processing conditions\nEvaluate blowing agents and foam systems, including physical testing and performance analysis\nTranslate complex technical data into clear, actionable insights for internal and external stakeholders\nPartner with commercial teams to identify new application opportunities and support business development\nConduct voice-of-customer (VOC) interviews to understand customer needs and define product value propositions\nDevelop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing, processing, and equipment use\nSupervise laboratory-scale foam preparation using hand-mix and foam machine techniques\nSupervise technicians and support cross-functional collaboration across R&D and commercial teams\nPhysical & Safety Requirements\nAbility to travel (30%) in US and International\nAbility to lift and handle materials up to 35 lbs\nCapability to handle and dispense materials from 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums\nComfortable working with a range of chemicals, including isocyanates, polyols, solvents, and blowing agents including Non-TSCA materials\nCommitment to safe laboratory practices and active participation in safety programs\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including:Safety shoes\nSafety glasses and chemical goggles\nRespiratory protection\n\nMUST HAVE\nBachelor’s degree (minimum) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field\nMinimum 5 years of experience in polyurethane foam formulation and processing\nExperience in polyurethane insulation foam applications (required)\nExperience maintaining laboratory notebooks and documenting experimental results\nStrong expertise in polyurethane foam formulation, processing, and testing\nHands-on experience with laboratory and pilot-scale polyurethane foam processing equipment\nProficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and technical problem-solving\nAbility to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, both verbally and in writing\nWE VALUE\nFamiliarity with SOP development and laboratory best practices\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\nExperience with electronic lab notebooks (e.g., ELN systems)\nAbility to learn and operate instrument control and data acquisition software\nParticipation in relevant industry associations (preferred)\nTechnical publications or presentations in the polyurethane or insulation industry \nCOMPENSATION\nThe annual base range for this position is $127805-$159500k.
