While you will apply through SOLV Energy, all day-to-day work, responsibilities, and decision-making for this role will reside within SDI.\nThe Estimator is responsible for developing preliminary structural and geotechnical designs for design-build deep foundation and shoring systems, then translating those designs into accurate, competitive construction cost estimates. The Engineer/Estimator evaluates project conditions and geotechnical data to select and size appropriate foundation and earth-retention systems, then builds the quantity takeoffs, pricing, and proposals used to win and execute the work.\nThe Assistant Preconstruction Project Manager is responsible for managing all assigned projects from notice of award through mobilization. This role is the primary point of coordination during preconstruction: hosting internal and external meetings, maintaining action item checklists, controlling client documentation, coordinating contracts and subcontracts, aligning scope with clients, and ensuring each project is fully set up and ready for a smooth handoff to the field team.\nAssistant Preconstruction Project Managers who demonstrate strong ownership of the preconstruction process, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a growing volume of projects are developed for advancement to Preconstruction Project Manager.\nThis role is based full-time in our office in Sacramento, CA. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.\nJob Description:\n*This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.\nPosition Responsibilities and Duties:\nPreconstruction Project Management (Award to Mobilization)\nManage all assigned projects from notice of award through mobilization, ensuring a smooth and complete transition from preconstruction to the field team.\nServe as the primary preconstruction point of contact for each assigned project, coordinating across internal departments and external project teams.\nTrack outstanding preconstruction action items required prior to mobilization for each assigned project and drive them to closure.\nMeeting Facilitation & Action Item Management\nSchedule and host all internal and external preconstruction meetings for assigned projects, including kickoff meetings, client coordination calls, and internal handoff meetings.\nPrepare meeting agendas, document meeting minutes, and distribute notes to all stakeholders.\nMaintain and actively manage action item checklists for each project, following up with responsible parties to ensure timely completion.\nDocument Control & Client Coordination\nMaintain document control for all documents received from the client, ensuring accurate, organized, and accessible project records.\nProactively follow up with clients to obtain outstanding documents required prior to mobilization.\nAlign project scope with the client, ensuring a shared understanding of scope, deliverables, and expectations prior to mobilization.\nContracts, Subcontracts & Work Orders\nCoordinate the preparation, review, and execution of contracts, subcontracts, and work orders for assigned projects.\nTrack contract and subcontract status, ensuring documents are fully executed prior to mobilization.\nWork with Estimating, Operations, and Legal to resolve open contract or scope questions prior to project handoff.\nProject Setup & Tracking Systems\nOversee the creation of all project tracking spreadsheets, checklists, and systems used to manage construction progress.\nManage overall job setup across the company, ensuring new projects are properly established in all relevant systems, such as project cost management, scheduling, and document control.\nEnsure consistent, standardized project setup practices are followed across all assigned projects.\nCross-Functional Support\nCollaborate with Estimating, Operations, Project Managers, and Superintendents to ensure a complete and accurate handoff of project information at mobilization.\nSupport the Estimating and Preconstruction Manager with other preconstruction responsibilities as assigned.\nMinimum Skills or Experience Requirements:\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing deadlines.\nAbility to host and lead meetings with both internal team members and external clients.\nStrong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear meeting minutes and action item summaries.\nAbility to build and maintain accurate, organized document control systems.\nWorking knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracts, and work orders.\nProactive follow-up skills with clients and internal stakeholders to keep projects moving forward.\nDetail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability and urgency.\nAbility to build and maintain project tracking spreadsheets and systems.\nAbility to work independently while managing a portfolio of projects in preconstruction.\nMust be proficient in MS Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.\n1 to 3 years of experience in construction, preconstruction, project coordination, or a related project support role.\nExperience in the solar, heavy civil, or specialty construction industry is a plus.\nDemonstrated ability to manage documentation, schedules, and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.\nCertificates / Licenses\nCertifications such as OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety are preferred.\nRequired: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation \nMay Obtain as Required: CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety \nPhysical Requirements\nPrimarily an office-based role, with the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.\nAbility to travel occasionally to active construction sites and between company and project locations as needed.\nAbility to work extended hours during high-volume award periods and mobilization deadlines as project demands require. \nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.\nSOLV Energy Is an Equal Opportunity Employer\nAt SOLV Energy we celebrate the power of our differences.
