The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
Role Overview
Solventum is building the Solventum Performance System (SPS), our integrated operating system designed to enable teams to improve performance, solve problems, and continuously deliver greater value for our customers and patients.
The SPS Capability & Facilitation Specialist will play a critical role in bringing SPS to life through Solventum’s Athlone teaching site. This role will help create and deliver immersive, practical learning experiences that enable leaders and teams to see, learn, practice, and ultimately apply SPS within their own operations.
This is a hands-on capability-building role combining operational excellence, facilitation, learning content development, coaching, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will translate SPS principles and standards into practical experiences, develop high-quality learning content, facilitate SPS Immersion Workshops, and work directly with Athlone teams to ensure the teaching-site experience remains grounded in real operational practice.
The role will partner closely with Global Continuous Improvement, Athlone site leadership, SPS pillar leaders, and subject matter experts to build a repeatable capability model that can scale across Solventum.
Primary Responsibilities
SPS Immersion & Facilitation
Serve as a primary facilitator for SPS Immersion Workshops hosted at the Athlone teaching site.
Create engaging, experiential learning environments through workshops, simulations, gemba-based learning, practical exercises, reflection, and application planning.
Coordinate with Athlone leaders, SPS pillar teams, and subject matter experts to deliver a cohesive end-to-end participant experience.
Facilitate audiences ranging from frontline leaders and CI practitioners to plant and operations leaders.
Coach participants in translating SPS concepts into practical actions they can apply within their home organizations.
SPS Learning & Content Development
Translate SPS principles, standards, and practices into clear, practical, and engaging learning experiences.
Develop and maintain SPS learning content including facilitator guides, participant materials, exercises, simulations, case studies, visual aids, standard work, and digital learning resources.
Partner across SPS pillars to create a consistent learning architecture, language, and participant experience.
Maintain and continuously improve SPS content as the operating system evolves and organizational learning increases.
Capture practical examples and success stories that demonstrate SPS principles through real work.
Teaching Site & SPS Practice
Partner with Athlone leadership and CI resources to strengthen the site as a model environment for SPS learning and application.
Participate directly in continuous improvement activities to maintain strong practitioner knowledge and connection to operational realities.
Support kaizen, structured problem solving, daily management, zero-loss thinking, and other SPS practices as appropriate.
Identify opportunities where the Athlone operating environment can better demonstrate SPS principles for visiting leaders and teams.
Convert real operational improvements into teachable examples and learning experiences.
Capability Building & Scale
Develop facilitator and train-the-trainer materials that enable SPS capability to scale beyond the Athlone teaching site.
Coach leaders, CI practitioners, and subject matter experts in effective SPS facilitation and teaching.
Establish repeatable facilitation practices and learning standards that create consistency across SPS experiences.
Capture participant feedback and learning insights and use them to continuously improve the SPS Immersion experience.
Share learning, emerging practices, and opportunities with the Global Continuous Improvement team to support continued evolution of SPS.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires, at a minimum, the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in Engineering, Operations, Business, Continuous Improvement, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, or a related discipline.

Working knowledge of Lean, continuous improvement, structured problem solving, or similar operational excellence methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into clear, practical content for diverse audiences.
Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels in a collaborative, matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, continuous improvement, operational excellence, or capability development.

Demonstrated experience facilitating kaizen events, structured problem-solving sessions, leader workshops, or experiential learning.
Experience designing and developing learning content, facilitator guides, simulations, workshops, or train-the-trainer materials.
Strong working knowledge of Lean practices including daily management, visual management, standard work, problem solving, waste elimination, value stream thinking, and continuous improvement.
Experience coaching leaders and teams in applying Lean or operational excellence practices.
Manufacturing or regulated-industry experience, ideally within medical technology, healthcare, life sciences, or another highly regulated environment.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate confidently with senior operational leaders while remaining equally effective working directly with frontline teams.
Strong storytelling and visual communication skills, with the ability to convert operational concepts into memorable and practical learning experiences.
Experience working across cultures, geographies, or global organizations.
Demonstrated curiosity, learning agility, and passion for developing the capability of others.
What Success Looks Like

The successful candidate will help create:
A highly engaging and repeatable SPS Immersion experience.
Consistent, practical, high-quality SPS learning content.
A growing network of leaders and practitioners capable of teaching and applying SPS.
Strong connection between what is taught in SPS and what is practiced within operations.
A continuously improving teaching-site model that can support the broader deployment and scale of SPS across Solventum.
