You’ll help develop practical solutions that support technician safety, enhance graft quality, and improve operational efficiency. Your work will play an important part in honoring the gift of tissue donation and helping provide life-saving allografts to patients around the world. \nWhat You’ll Do \nWork alongside both Manufacturing Engineers and Process Improvement Engineers to develop solutions to high priority challenges within operations including but not limited to: tissue recovery & chart evaluation, microbiology testing, clean room operations, post-production operations, quality control, and supply chain operations.\nUtilize SolidWorks 3D modeling for idealizing new and/or revised tooling designs to support manufacturing in transforming donated tissues into high-quality and high-precision allografts.\nUtilize SolidWorks to create engineering drawings and work with local machining and post-processing shops to develop prototypes and final concepts.\nCreate and revise production SOPs and related documentation to transition new processes and equipment into production.\nWork with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements for various problems utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies\nDevelop visuals (PowerPoint, PowerBi, Visio, etc.) for analyzing problem statements such as process/value stream maps, FMEA, fishbone diagrams, pareto charts, and trending graphs.\nResponsible for providing updates to various levels of leadership addressing overall project progression, barriers to implementation, and requests for additional resources if applicable.\nEnsures Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) and all quality guidelines, internal and external, are followed throughout projects.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\n\nMinimum Requirements \n Education and/or Experience\n Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering at an accredited university.\nMust remain actively enrolled in engineering program for the entire duration of the co-op assignment.\nAt least 2nd year/sophomore student\nMust have at least 3 available co-op rotations\nMinimum GPA of 3.0\n Work Environment and Physical Requirements\nPosition requires exposure to gross anatomy. \nMust be able to meet the required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.\nFDA regulated environment\nPreferred Qualifications \nBS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering preferred.\nStrong PC skills including Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio).\nExperience with manufacturing equipment designs, development, and fabrication.\nExperience with LEAN manufacturing concepts.\nExperience with parametric 3D solid modeling (SolidWorks) and detailing/dimensioning.\nExperience in performing process/equipment verification and validation.\nExperience in a regulated industry.\nAdvanced problem-solving skills using CAD software, statistical tools, and professional reports/visuals.\nAble to work independently and in cross-functional teams.\nPreference for candidate to return for multiple co-op rotations.\n\nWe offer \nA highly competitive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, life and supplemental insurance. \n401(k) with employer contribution and match. \nOn-Demand Pay - Reduce financial stress with on-demand pay access to your earned pay. \nGenerous paid time off (PTO) - up to 5 weeks in your first year! \nOpportunities to participate in recreational activities such as Battle of the Businesses, special events such as Kings Island Day, Dayton Air Show and opportunities to give back to the community. \nOpportunities to join various employee committees, such as our benefit, recreation, employee engagement and community engagement committees. \n\nQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or other characteristic protected by law.
