This role works across business and technology teams to translate requirements into scalable, secure, resilient, and supportable solutions.\nThe Solution Architect ensures that solution designs span the full delivery lifecycle, including business processes, application architecture, integration, data flows, infrastructure, security, and support model considerations. The role is critical in enabling effective decision-making, reducing delivery risk, and ensuring that implemented solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to enterprise standards.\nLocation: This position can be based out of ourPurchase NY, Midtown NYC, Morristown NJ, Charlotte NJC, Conshohocken PA, Mt Juliet TN, or Lubbock TX office. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.\nKey Responsibilities\nSolution Design and Architecture\nDesign end-to-end technology solutions across insurance, reinsurance and corporate business applications, integrations, data, infrastructure, and security domains.\nTranslate business goals, functional requirements, and non-functional requirements into solution architectures and design artifacts.\nDevelop high-level and detailed solution designs that clearly define system components, interfaces, dependencies, and operational considerations.\nEnsure that solution designs address scalability, resilience, performance, maintainability, and supportability.\nDefine solution options, evaluate trade-offs, and recommend preferred approaches based on business value, technical fit, cost, and risk.\nProvide project approach to project team to develop project plans and schedules. Support project planning process\nEnsure alignment between solution architecture and enterprise architecture standards, patterns, and roadmaps.\nBusiness and Stakeholder Engagement\nPartner with business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, engineers, and vendors to understand objectives and shape appropriate solution approaches.\nFacilitate architecture and design discussions across multiple teams to achieve alignment on scope, approach, and implementation decisions.\nSupport project initiation and planning by providing architectural input into estimates, dependencies, risks, and delivery considerations.\nEnd-to-End Delivery Support\nProvide architectural leadership throughout the project lifecycle from ideation through implementation and transition to support.\nWork closely with development, infrastructure, security, QA, and operations teams to ensure designs are understood and executed effectively.\nReview solution implementation to confirm adherence to approved architecture and design principles.\nGovernance, Risk, and Standards\nParticipate in architecture governance processes, including design reviews, approvals, and technical assurance activities.\nEnsure solutions comply with security, regulatory, risk, and data governance requirements.\nIdentify architectural risks, issues, and dependencies and recommend mitigation plans.\nPromote reuse of existing platforms, services, and patterns where appropriate to reduce complexity and improve consistency.\nContribute to architecture principles, standards, reference models, and best practices.\nDocumentation and Communication\nProduce and maintain architecture documentation, including solution diagrams, design decisions, interface specifications, and transition considerations.\nPresent solution designs and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences, including governance forums and senior stakeholders.\nDocument assumptions, constraints, and key decisions to support transparency and traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.\nSalary Range: $165,000 - $175,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.\nAt Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
