The role requires strong communication skills given the need to interact with various teams including other Actuarial areas, Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Risk and Capital, amongst others.\nThe role is a junior position in the UK Actuarial Function team, overseen by the Chief Actuary, Sompo UK.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nAssist in the delivery of accurate management information and reporting for the UK entities, applying market insights and critical judgement to the process:Support the Lloyd’s reporting requirements for the Syndicate 4711 as well as responses to requests from the PRA.\nDevelopment of Management Information to enhance Executive, Board and Senior Management understanding of key actuarial insights, in respect of all aspects of the UKAF.\nSupport to the Head of UK Regulatory Reserving relating to the SII/Technical Provisions.\n\nWork collaboratively with other business functions in fulfilling the UKAF’s objectives:Assist with the preparation of the Actuarial Function Holder reports.\nSupport and assist in actuarial projects and initiatives.\nAssist with independent reviews, responding to both internal and external stakeholder challenge.\nCollaborate with pricing and reserving to strengthen the feedback loop between the teams.\nSupport with the review and challenge of the UK entity reserving results.\n\nBe able to effectively articulate the legal and regulatory demands impacting the actuarial team and broader business.\nContribute to decision making with regards to technical actuarial issues.\nQUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE\n2- 5 years within an actuarial role in general insurance with relevant experience of actuarial analyses and project related work.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills.\nGood organisational and problem-solving skills.\nAble to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.\nProficient in MS Office applications; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
