Working with a select group of wholesale and retail brokers, our experienced specialists tailor solutions to meet the unique needs of each client. Providing individual risk policies as well as products for niche classes, we deliver risk solutions effectively and responsively.\nLocation: This position can be based out of our Alpharetta, GA; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; or San Francisco, CA areas. We strive for collaboration, which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long-lasting careers.\nOur business, your impact, our opportunity:\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nResponsible for the development of the Engineered Risk business within their assigned territory.\n\nUnderwrite complex construction projects to properly determine capacity allocation, attachment point, terms and pricing to create a diverse and profitable book of business.\n\nManage and develop producer and client relationships.\n\nDevelop and execute a regional marketing plan aimed at retaining existing business and producing new business.\n\nCreate and foster a reputation as an industry expert with peers and producers.\n\nProvide technical expertise to Sompo Internationals Global Risk Solution and Inland Marine product lines.\n\nGather and evaluate industry trends and competitive intelligence.\n\nParticipates in the development of the policy forms, premium rating plans and underwriting guidelines.\n\nMaintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines.\n\nAbility to work with others within a team and contribute to the development of others.\n\nAbility to attend industry function(s).\n\nAbility to travel nationally 25% of the time\n\nWhat you’ll bring:\n12+ years of Engineered Risk/Construction Property underwriting experience\n\nEstablished relationships with regional retail & wholesale brokers\n\nEstablished relationships with national facultative reinsurers\n\nExperience in successfully underwriting, quoting, and binding profitable business\n\nBachelor’s Degree with an Engineering discipline preferred\n\nStrong Attention to detail\n\nExcellent oral and written communication skills\n\nStrong analytical and organizational skills\n\nStrong computer skills, Microsoft office applications\n\nSalary Range: $190,000.00 - $240,000.00 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.\nAt Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
