You will own the professional growth and development of your team, enabling them to build well-crafted software for our products, and promoting a high-performance engineering culture.\nYou will improve our products by leading the elaboration of the squad's annual and quarterly objectives in close collaboration with the AI team while contributing to and overseeing technical architecture and engineering direction.\nYou will help to bring consistency across Sonar’s engineering organization by collaborating closely with your engineering manager peers to foster and share engineering best practices.\nWhat you will do\nLead and manage a team of Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help individuals grow in autonomy and contribute to the team's success.\n\nHold yourself and your team accountable to a high engineering standard.\n\nFoster a safe culture of feedback, continuous improvement, and collaboration, encouraging team members to share their ideas and concerns openly.\n\nAlign feedback with other teams to ensure things operate smoothly between teams.\n\nPartner with product managers, designers, and team leads to develop and communicate a clear vision for the squad that aligns with the company strategy and ensure that the team's work and focus align with this vision.\n\nEnsure the squad defines clear objectives that are aligned with team, department, and company goals.\n\nBe accountable for tracking sprint progress.\n\nBe accountable that processes and ceremonies align with company expectations to deliver the best product successfully.\n\nEnsure that the right level of collaboration happens with the squad stakeholders (Product Managers, developer squads, Marketing, Management, etc.).\n\nPartner with the Hiring team to recruit talented Engineers for the team. Participate in improving the hiring process for the team and ensuring we recruit enough to reach our goals.\n\nBe accountable that the onboarding of new team members is happening in the squad.\n\nLead by example, modeling the behaviors and values that the company holds dear, including humility and servant leadership.\n\nExperience and qualifications\nThe technical skills you will demonstrate\n8+ years of software development or equivalent experience in the software development domain, with a strong understanding of software testing.\n\nHaving a developer mindset: experience with coding lifecycle, ability to produce secure code, to do code reviews, and to jump into an unknown codebase, language, and framework.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of the Java ecosystem\n\nGood knowledge of at least one programming language along with its development environment to understand end-user's context and expectations.\n\nExperience with Agile methodologies.\n\nThe leadership skills you will demonstrate\n3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of delivering results and building high-performing teams.\n\nA growth mindset and a passion for helping individuals and teams reach their full potential.\n\nStrong decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and resources effectively.\n\nCapability to make concrete progress in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge.\n\nThe soft skills you will demonstrate\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\n\nAbility to clearly identify the problem to be solved and articulate it, before jumping to possible solutions/actions.\n\nAbility to deliver effective feedback.\n\nGood listening skills.\n\nAbility to face small conflicts in a healthy way and help parties
