You will be part of a collaborative engineering team focused on ensuring product quality through robust test automation and efficient QA practices.\nKey Responsibilities\nDrive automated testing efforts across the platform (50%-50% manual).\nContribute to social media reporting initiatives.\nConduct thorough automation code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.\nManual Testing (≈50%)\nReview requirements, user stories, and designs to identify gaps, edge cases, and testability concerns early in the sprint.\nWrite and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and checklists in BrowserStack Test Management.\nPerform functional, exploratory, regression, smoke, and UAT-support testing across web and mobile.\nExecute cross-browser and cross-device testing, including responsive layouts and real-device checks.\nValidate APIs and back-end behavior manually (e.g., Postman) to support UI findings.\nReproduce, document, and triage defects with clear steps, evidence (screenshots, videos, logs), severity, and priority.\nPartner with Product and Development during sprint ceremonies to clarify acceptance criteria and sign off on releases.\nTest Automation with Playwright (≈50%)\nDesign, build, and maintain end-to-end and API automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript.\nApply maintainable framework patterns (Page Object Model, fixtures, reusable helpers, test data management).\nIdentify which manual test cases should be automated and convert stable, high-value scenarios into automated regression coverage.\nInvestigate and fix flaky tests using Playwright Trace Viewer, logs, screenshots, and video.\nIntegrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines with parallel execution and run cross-browser tests on BrowserStack Automate.\nReport automation results and quality metrics (coverage, pass rate, defect trends) to the team and stakeholders.\nRequired Qualifications\n4+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript\nProficiency in Playwright Trace Debugging\nExperience with BrowserStack Test Management\nExperience with BrowserStack Automate\nProven ability to scope and implement automation requirements for new features\nStrong Computer Science fundamentals\nExperience setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration systems\nSkilled in reporting, tracking, and triaging bugs, and solving complex technical problems\nExcellent communication skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail\nSolid experience in manual testing: test case design, exploratory testing, regression, and smoke testing\nStrong knowledge of QA methodologies and test design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, risk-based testing)\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum teams and with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)\nHands-on experience with API testing, both manual (Postman or similar) and automated (Playwright API testing)\nComfortable with Git, code reviews, and pull request workflows\nAdvanced English, written and spoken\nNice to Haves\nHands-on experience with native mobile and web QA automation (Appium, WDIO)\nFamiliarity with GitLab CI/CD\nExperience with GitHub Actions or other CI tools\nBasic SQL for data validation\nExposure to accessibility testing (WCAG) and visual regression testing\nFamiliarity with performance testing tools (k6, JMeter)\nISTQB or similar QA certification\nWhy Work with Sonatafy?\nAt Sonatafy, you'll join a community of highly skilled engineers across Latin America supporting innovative U.S.-based teams.
