The Warehouse Worker must load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment, e.g. lift truck, forklift, etc. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify contents and quality and may be required to assist in the scheduling of freight appointments. The Warehouse Worker must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position. Other duties may be assigned, as necessary. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of the organization. It is expected that the employee demonstrates behaviour consistent with our core values and supports our strategic plan.\nJob Duties\nPrepare receiving dock to accept incoming product.\nPrepare materials for shipment. \nMatch incoming and outgoing product with purchase orders. \nVerify product expiration codes. \nInspect product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable code dating. \nOperate a Forklift or Electric Pallet Jack in a safe manner to move received product. \nOperate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various products. \nPerform pre-trip inspection of vehicle. \nDeliver products over established routes. \nEnsure correct loading of vehicle. \nOperate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road. \nComply with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods. \nRecord information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered. \nLoading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.). \nReport vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles. \nCheck all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. \nMaintain a safe work environment. \nMay be required to assist with scheduling freight appointments. \nMay lift cases of product and/or stock merchandise according to documented procedures. \nProcess all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking. \nCreate a daily shipment schedule. \nOversee the secure and accurate loading and unloading of deliveries. \nTrack shipments and verify receipts of shipments as required. \nManage inventory of shipping materials and supplies. \nSort and distribute incoming shipments. \nPerform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off. \nReport discrepancies to immediate supervisor. \nFollow current standards and procedures. \nEnsure that shipments contain proper documentation and if there are multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete. \nProblem solve for any cases of missing documents, shipments and deliveries. \nMaintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations. \nMake deliveries with a company vehicle as assigned. \nOther duties as required by the organization. \nRequirements\nHigh school diploma or GED. \nForklift certification preferred. \nExperience in the warehouse industry preferred. \nWorking experience in Shipping and Receiving role preferred. \nAble to communicate both verbally and in writing. \nBasic mathematical skills. \nOntario Class G drivers license and clean drivers extract. \nKnowledge of filling out waybills and bills of landing and international shipments. \nAbility to weigh and measure items. \nWorking knowledge of safe lifting methods. \nDemonstrated ability to operate material handling equipment including forklift truck. \nAble to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently. \nComputer literacy, including working skills of Excel and e-mail. \nAttention to detail in all areas of work. \nGood organizational, time management and prioritizing skills. \nStrong work ethic and positive team attitude. \nKnowledge of a broad spectrum of electrical products and applications is not required but considered an asset.Must be able to carry and move equipment and/or supplies more than 50 pounds. \n\nBenefits & Perks:\nWe offer a competitive salary, plus a full set of benefits, including:\nFlexible benefits program allowing you to choose from options that best fit you and your dependents’ needs.
