The Accounting Manager owns the monthly accounting close, supervises the accounting staff and helps maintain discipline and rigor across the accounting and reporting processes.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nAccounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the accounting staff.\nTravel:\n Travel is not typical for this position but may be required at times.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nOwn the accounting close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in line with generally accepted accounting standards.\nPrepare account analysis and reconciliations of balance sheet and P&L accounts.\nResearch and interpret accounting rules to ensure compliance with US GAAP\nLead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nStrengthen internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.\nDrive process improvements to make financial operations faster, smoother, and more scalable.\nPartner with teams across Sonic to simplify financial processes, provide insights that drive better decision-making and elevate financial understanding across the company.\nSupport audits and regulatory requirements, working closely with external auditors and internal teams.\nParticipate in special projects, analysis and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.\n\nJob Requirements:\n8-10 years of experience in the accounting profession, with public accounting or public company experience preferred\nCPA strongly preferred\nBA or BS degree\nStrong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in accounting software (SAP preferred)\nProven ability to lead and manage small teams (3-4 people), including setting clear goals and objectives, providing guidance, and ensuring team members have the resources and support needed to achieve results\nProven ability to foster a positive work environment through collaboration, inclusion and employee engagement\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy\nAbility to think strategically and provide financial insights to support business decisions\nCapable of performing effectively in a high-pressure setting with strict deadlines\nA proactive and organized self-starter, skilled at multitasking and detail oriented\nAbility to be a team player, and ability to work well in both in-person and remote work environments \n\nWork Environment:\nThis position operates in a typical office environment.
