Typical schedule is Monday through Friday 6am-3pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.\nTravel:\n Travel is typical for this position.\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nThe Fiber Splicing Technician position does not have supervisory responsibilities.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nSmart, dedicated, and willing to learn\nExceptional problem-solving and organization skills\nAbility to prioritize and work within tight deadlines\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nExcellent language skills, both written and verbal \n Essential Duties and Responsibilities:\nFiber optic stripping, cleaving, ribbionizing and splicing\nTesting using a variety of equipment such VFL and OTDR and recording results\nFollowing specific workmanship instructions and multitasking\nMust be receptive to changing priorities\nAbility to fusion splice SM or MM fiber optic cable: to include terminate various types of fiber optic connectors\nWork with engineers and OSP management to perform fusion splicing as directed\nInstallation and testing of pressurized and non-pressurized closures on all types and sizes of cable\nKnowledge using Fiber Light Meter\nInstallation and dressing of fiber optic cable both aerial and underground\nProvide management with detail reports of field splicing activity\nCommunicate with Project Manager and Team Leader on workload status in order to meet designated goal\nMaintain a positive and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity with minimal supervision\n\nWork Environment:\nWork is normally performed in outdoor settings. Outdoor work may be required in residential and commercial areas, construction sites, and field facilities. Performance of the position requires working safely and may require working outdoors in all weather conditions, all noise levels, hazardous conditions, and on the full range of outdoor work surfaces.\n\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
