We're extremely proud of our portfolio of brands, our achievements in sustainability and industrialization and the groundbreaking work accomplished by our people.\nWhile reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Industrial Maintenance Technician / ElectroMechanic is responsible for achieving a high level of reliability for plant equipment through performing tasks required to maintain equipment and minimize downtime. This individual will use their training and knowledge to perform equipment/process/system maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, make repairs and identify opportunities for improvement.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nUnderstands and follows safety policies and procedures. Performs all tasks safely and does not take risks. Identifies safety risks and works to reduce them.\n\nSupplies and maintains their own tools.\n\nDocuments and performs preventative/predictive maintenance tasks to eliminate equipment breakdowns and failures.\n\nCreates, and documents work completed using C-Works.\n\nTechnically skilled to maintain, troubleshoot, and properly repair equipment currently in use in a timely manner.\n\nTechnically skilled to maintain, troubleshoot, and properly repair equipment currently in use in a timely manner.\n\nCan understand overall equipment operation/function as it applies to maintenance, repair, troubleshooting and reliability of equipment sub-components.\n\nSkilled in the use of shop tools: lathes, drills, milling machines, welders, etc.\n\nCommunicates effectively with operations personnel to identify and resolve abnormal/degraded equipment conditions that could negatively impact safety, quality or productivity.\n\nReads and understands mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical schematics.\n\nInstalls/troubleshoots/repairs AC and DC drives/motors.\n\nModifies/reads/troubleshoots/installs PLC programs.\n\nFabricates and installs various electrical, piping, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.\n\nRebuilds various parts/equipment.\n\nMust be able to pass Category 2 electrical safe work practices standards and utilize safe work practices and PPE.\n\nWe'd like to hear from you if:\nWe expect you to be Sonoco mission driven\n\nWe need you have to at least 2-3 years’ experience in industrial maintenance.\n\nYou will need strong hands-on injection molding processing and troubleshooting abilities.\n\nWe prefer that you have experience with machines and tooling maintenance procedures.\n\nKnowledge of robotics and auxiliary equipment used with plastic injection molding is a plus.\n\nYou have to have a “get it done” attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.\n\nTo succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nWorking independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.\n\nYou need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.\n\nYou will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.\n\nHaving the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.\n\nYou will need to able to perform repetitive duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.\n\nYou will need to supply and maintain your own tools.\n\nWe care about the health and wellness of you and your family.
