Purpose of Job\nTo maintain correct operation of all washers as the operating specifications set out in standard operating procedures.\n2. Principal Accountabilities\nWasher\nConduct daily checks, using standard laboratory equipment.\nConduct conductivity checks.\nCheck cans on turnover for cleanliness and damage, feed fallen cans from transfer and turnover back into infeed; removing damaged cans.\nEnsure Washcoat process is in specification and controlled.\nConduct running repairs and adjustments to maintain equipment within specified operating parameters of the washer and dryer.\nPerform planned maintenance as per schedule including TC86 + spray bar cleans.\nTroubleshooting and fault finding of the system.\nWater Treatment\nAssist the Serviceman/Service Engineer where required to complete activities.\nH&S & Environment\nComply with Sonoco EHS policy and statutory requirements at all times.\nLead by example on all matters of Health & Safety. \nEncouragement of others to engage in safety discussions and projects.\nEnsure that all activities are carried out in accordance with all applicable safety procedures.\nCompletion of all mandatory, Convergence training and refreshers as required in a timely manner.\nPractice safe working techniques in all that you do.\nSupport the business with any safety related initiatives and programs.\nDevelopment of safety related skills, including attending any safety related training as and when required.\nSupport the business with carrying out safety observations and discussions with others, finding any fixes or improvements which can be proposed to the site. \nEffective waste management control within the relevant area of responsibility, to control, reduce and eliminate waste within anything that we do.\nAdhere to high levels of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and ensure 5S is carried out at all times.\nAny additional role-specific H&S responsibilities.\nAny additional role-specific Environmental responsibilities.\nQuality\nEnsure all stages of the washer process remain within a pre-determined specification.\nEnsure the condition of the can leaving the washer/dryer is at the correct specification for the following process.\nReporting and recording of disciplines and checks\nLiaise with the Shift Manager/Quality Engineer regarding day to day operations/alterations within the washer process.\nAdhere to quality and food initiatives with regard to Food Safety.\nGeneral\nAssist in trials and installation/commissioning of equipment and size changeovers, as directed by the Shift Manager/Team Leaders.\nWork flexibly in any work area as far as safety and capability allows.\nUpdate SOPs and implement any improvements or alteration where required.\n3. Knowledge & Experience\nMinimum Job Requirements\nWorking knowledge and experience in the following areas:\nWashers/washer process engineering Treatment of chemicals and bulk chemical storage Awareness of chemical segregation i.e. acids/alkalis\nJobholders are expected to possess good all round mechanical or technical skills.
