This includes the review of operating statements, as well as working closely with our offshore team to ensure the accuracy and completeness of general ledger data. In addition, you will need an understanding of GAAP principles and their application within the Sonoco environment.\nWhat you will be doing:\nReview monthly operating statements and balance sheets for reasonableness, ensuring completeness and accuracy.\nAnalyze financial results and identify variances, trends, and potential issues.\nPromote strong internal controls and monitor effectiveness.\nWork as a liaison between the onshore and offshore shared services general ledger teams and the divisions.\nWork to standardize processes and procedures. Stay current on accounting and system updates.\nProvide assistance, training and guidance to offshore team as needed.\nReconcile certain general ledger accounts. Prepare and enter journals for operating expenses, statistical data and accruals as needed.\nProvide world-class service to internal and external customers while maintaining effective communication and promoting process improvements.\nUtilize financial systems and maintain technical skills. (Ex. Microsoft Office, Oracle EBS & ERP, OneStream, etc.)\nPerform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing tasks as assigned.\nAssist Corporate Departments and/or Divisions as needed with activities such as internal audits, governmental reporting, and intercompany invoicing.\nPrepare bank reconciliations as assigned.\nPrepare corporate department and/or plant fixed cost budgets as assigned.\nSupport internal and external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.\n Assist with resolving open items on various reconciliations\nThis position is in a perfect location at our corporate headquarters in Hartsville, SC and close to exciting destinations (Myrtle Beach, SC; Charleston, SC; Columbia, SC and Charlotte, NC).\nWe would love to hear from you if:\nBachelor’s Degree required\nCompensation: \nShared Services Accountant: The annual base salary range for this role is from $52,000 to $58,500.\nShared Services Accountant II: The annual base salary range for this role
