You will work with cross-functional teams located at multiple sites distributed globally to meet targets for schedule, functionality, cost, and quality. You will also coordinate development across engineering, product & program management, sourcing, and operations. The ideal candidate should have the ability to work well under pressure and be able to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.\nResponsibilities:\nProject Leadership: Scope, plan, and advise new mechanical architectures and component initiatives.\nDesign Feasibility: Verify the feasibility of initial transducer design and system targets, and provide the final mechanical design solution.\nProactive Development: Anticipate mechanical design work and cross-functional needs related to the transducer and product architectures without direction.\n CAD & Mechanical Design: Design various mechanical components, transducer, and mechanisms autonomously using CAD software (NX, Creo, preferably Onshape).\n FEA & Simulation: Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA)-specifically modal and strength analysis-using simulation tools like COMSOL or Ansys to validate structural integrity.\nDesign Reviews: Lead mechanical design reviews from structural, manufacturing, and assembly perspectives.\nPrototyping: Prototype and evaluate mechanical designs.\nTesting & Reliability: Generate and implement mechanical reliability and stress test plans.\nTroubleshooting: Debug mechanical and structural issues coming out of prototyping and product builds.\nCommunication: Communicate internally and externally unsupervised related to mechanical product development.\nQualifications:\nEducation: BS or above degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.\nExperience: 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design, preferably within consumer electronics, audio hardware, or high-technology products.\nCore Traits: Be passionate and persistent about technology, innovation, and big challenging tasks. A strong team player who is highly self-motivated and willing to take ownership.\nCAD Proficiency: Advanced 3D modeling skills using CAD software, highly preferred Onshape.\n Design Expertise: Applied knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and 2D/3D tolerance analysis. Expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).\nProduct Development: Good understanding of product development processes, particularly for high-technology products.\n Simulation Skills: Solid experience with FEA simulation tools (modal and strength analysis) such as COMSOL or Ansys.\n Manufacturing Knowledge: Good understanding of mechanical component material properties, selection, and high-volume manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, die casting, stamping and CNC, etc.).\nMobility: Ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes with short notice.\n Communication Skills: Skilled in communication internally and externally.
