Radio System Integration Engineer

This role involves hands-on contributions across various stages of the radio system integration lifecycle, working closely with senior engineers. Your responsibilities will include:
1. RF Testing & Performance Verification:
Execute and analyze RF performance characterization testsfor new and existing products (e.g., receiver sensitivity, transmitter power, EVM, linearity).
Perform system bring-up, initial debugging, and optimizationof radio designs.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex RF issues, including desensitization, spurious emissions, and basic EMI,using RF test equipment (Spectrum analyzer, VNA , Load Pull and callbox).
Characterize key RF components (e.g., RFICs, FEMs) to ensure performance meets specifications.
Develop and define new test procedures or Product Functional Specification (PFS) items to characterize the RF system performance.
2. Test Automation & Tool Development:
Develop, implement, and maintain automation scripts and tools using Pythonto streamline RF testing and data analysis.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of test automation frameworksand support continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Contribute to improving test efficiency, reducing test time, and optimizing test processes.
3. Regulatory Compliance Support:
Lead and support in-house radio pre-compliance testing effortsand manage 3rd party radio certification processesfor global markets (FCC, ETSI, SRRC, MIC, etc.).
Design and build test automation suitesto streamline radio compliance testing conducted at 3rd party labs.
Maintain an in-depth understanding of evolving radio compliance standardsin various regions and global markets, proactively identifying and contributing to strategies for regulatory adherence.
4. Manufacturing & JDM Partner Support:
Provide technical support and automation for radio production activitiesat Contract Manufacturing (CM) and Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) partners.
Assist in on-site and remote debugging of radio-related issues during line bring-up and mass production.
Contribute to the analysis of factory production line data to identify trends and assist in troubleshooting.
Support the definition and optimization of manufacturing processes for radio products.
5. Lab & Test Environment Management:
Configure and troubleshoot network infrastructure within lab and test environments.
Manage and maintain test setups and lab spaces, including test benches and OTA chambers.
Prepare and maintain tools and equipment for compliance testing and travel.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate effectively with Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, Compliance, and other engineering teams to debug and optimize overall system performance in highly integrated environments.
Skills You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degreein Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a closely related field.
3-5 years of hands-on experiencein RF testing, integration, or product development, ideally for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-enabled consumer electronics devices.
Proficiency in Pythonfor test automation and data analysis.
Proficient with Git/GitHubfor version control.
Experience with test automation frameworks or CI/CD pipelines.
Solid understanding of RF fundamentals, including common wireless protocols (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth).
Hand-on Experience with RF test and measurement equipment(e.g., spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, callbox, etc).
Familiarity with Linux environments.
Familiarity with global WiFi and BT/BLE regulatory compliance standards (e.g., FCC, CE, ETSI, MIC, SRRC) is a plus.
Experience in supporting manufacturing and debug efforts at CM/JDM facilities is nice to have.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Fluency in English and Mandarin.
Ability to work on-site in Shanghai.
