We ask that applicants be authorized to work for any US employer, both now and in the future.\nWhat You’ll Do\nProvide technical guidance on power and analog designs within the Electrical System team\n\nEnhance the excellence of Sonos products through research and prototyping of new technologies\n\nAdvance the simulation and test methodology of power and analog design\n\nDevelop and design analog circuits for AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion, as well as signal conditioning and amplification for audio products\n\nDesign custom magnetics for power amplifiers and power supplies\n\nDevelop engineering validation plans to ensure high quality of your design\n\nDocument your design, validation plans, and test results\n\nEnsure to meet all regulatory requirements including EMC, energy efficiency, and safety\n\nWork cooperatively across disciplines. Collaborate with JDM partners. Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers and JDM electrical engineers in power and analog design\n\nWhat You’ll Need\nBasic Qualifications\nAdvanced degree in Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of related industry experience, or BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years direct experience also considered.\n\nProficient in English in verbal and written communication\n\nHands-on experience with complete ownership of analog and power electronics design in high volume products\n\nThorough understanding of efficient power conversion topologies (flyback, PFC + LLC) including detailed analysis of circuit and magnetics specification\n\nKnowledge of safety and compliance standards for consumer electronic devices\n\nStrong analytical skills, trouble-shooting skills, and system level knowledge\n\nProficiency in creating and editing schematic and layout files\n\nProven leadership skills including schedule management and mentoring/motivating/leading project team members\n\nTechnically inquisitive - must be able to take on new technical challenges and learn new technical skills on-the-fly and apply the knowledge to solve the issue at hand\n\nAbility to propose, set up, and execute design validation test plans with limited guidance.\n\nWell-developed reporting and communication skills, including the ability to explain and summarize complicated issues\n\nAbility to use simulation/analysis tools and best engineering judgment to resolve issues\n\nStrong sense of ownership, able to design as well as to explain design decisions to others\n\nAbility to work with people with different culture background and/or in different time zones\n\nAbility to work on multiple projects concurrently, to recognize the level of urgency of problems, and to prioritize tasks\n\nYou do not have to be an expert in everything, but you are excited by challenges and take initiative to learn and collaborate with others.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nDesign experience in Class-D audio amplifiers is highly preferred\n\nWorking experience with other Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, layout engineers, compliance, and program management from JDM partners\n\nExperience in embedded circuit design (CPU, Memory, Ethernet, USB, HDMI, Digital audio, etc.)\n\nExperience using audio test equipment like AP and EMC test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers)\n\nDesign experience with integration of Lithium Ion battery management and wired/wireless charging systems. Direct Experience with battery technology (cell and pack level) and battery management and charging systems is a plus\n\nDesign experience in audio amplifiers is highly preferred\n\nKnowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements and testing procedures\n\nKnowledge and experience in USB Type-C and/or PD USB-PD\n\nKnowledge and experience in Power over Ethernet is a plus\n\nExperience in wireless communications, audio and acoustic products.\n\nResearch shows that some candidates may not apply for roles if they don't meet all the criteria. Employees in high-cost locations may be compensated at the upper end of the range, while those in medium or low cost markets may be compensated at the lower end of the range.
