We seek a senior full-stack web developer within the DevNet team. DevNet is our web portal used worldwide by which developers interact and supply their content onto the PlayStation platform, including games, movies, music and more. \nThis senior engineer would be responsible for helping us balance the challenge of modernising a mature and fully featured application while making our industry-leading portal even better. The ideal candidate would have worked on and supported large web projects before in an agile SCRUM team, with demonstrable experience in all levels of web application development. \nThe candidate should be willing to lead the development team when necessary and support the current leadership team, and also have a desire to move into a leadership position. If this is you, please apply!\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nDevelop and support a large-scale web application while contributing to its ongoing modernisation.\n\nBuild new cloud-based services using technologies such as Go, TypeScript and AWS.\n\nCreate high-quality front-end experiences in close collaboration with Product and UX.\n\nHelp break down features, plan achievable iterations and contribute to technical design discussions.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve our products, engineering practices and development processes.\n\nInvestigate and resolve technical issues using strong debugging and problem-solving skills.\n\nParticipate in code reviews, pairing and knowledge-sharing across the team.\n\nCollaborate with engineers and stakeholders across Dublin, London and other international locations.\n\nFor the senior position, provide technical direction, support engineering decisions and mentor other team members.\n\nWhat we are looking for:\nStrong professional experience in full-stack web development.\n\nProficiency in at least one back-end programming language.\n\nExperience with front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript.\n\nExperience developing or supporting large, mature web applications.\n\nFamiliarity with PHP and a willingness to work with an established PHP platform while helping modernise it.\n\nExperience with, or an interest in working with, Go and TypeScript.\n\nA solid understanding of web application architecture, APIs and web services.\n\nThe ability to break down complex technical problems into clear, maintainable solutions.\n\nStrong debugging and problem-solving skills.\n\nExperience using Git or another version-control system.\n\nExperience working collaboratively in an agile engineering team.\n\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with Product, UX and DevOps colleagues.\n\nA flexible, pragmatic approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.\n\nFor the senior position, experience leading technical discussions, mentoring engineers and contributing to technical direction.\n\nIt would be beneficial if you have:\nExperience developing or operating services on AWS.\n\nExperience with Go, TypeScript or Python.\n\nProficiency in Unix or Linux-based environments.\n\nExperience working in Scrum, Kanban or SAFe environments.\n\nPrevious technical leadership or mentoring experience.\n\nPlease note, Sony Interactive Entertainment conducts background checks at the offer stage for all new employees (which may include criminal background checks for some roles) and will need to process personal information to support these checks.\nPlease refer to our Candidate Privacy Notice for more information about what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your data protection rights.\nEqual Opportunity Statement:\nSony is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
