We welcome and encourage everyone who has a passion and curiosity for innovation, technology, and play to explore our open positions and join our growing global team. \nThe PlayStation brand falls under Sony Interactive Entertainment, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation \nThe role \nWe are looking for a Software Engineer to join the Kit Manager team, working on the design and development of a scalable private cloud solution for managing PlayStation Development Kits along with the provision of associated APIs and services as part of the PlayStation® SDK. \nWhat you’ll be doing \nOwn the end-to-end delivery of features, from requirements analysis and design through implementation and validation \nInvestigate, debug, and resolve issues in existing code and newly developed featuresParticipate in requirements gathering and architectural discussions, collaborating with cross-functional teams in an agile environment \nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to maintaining high engineering standards \nAttend periodic in-person workshops and team events, with occasional travel as required \nWhat we’re looking for \nYou should bring some of the following skills and experience: \nCommercial or open-source experience developing software in Rust, with the ability to design, implement, and maintain production-quality code, and a strong understanding of Rust fundamentals including ownership, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, generics, error handling, and asynchronous programming with Tokio \nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills \nA passion for building intuitive products with a strong focus on user experience and developer workflows \nStrong commercial experience developing software in modern C++ \nA solid understanding of concurrency, multithreaded programming, and modern software design principles \nExperience writing automated tests and applying modern software testing practices \nProficiency with Git or other distributed version control systems \nDesirable skills and experience \nExperience developing cross-platform applications for Windows, Linux, and macOS \nExperience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases \nExperience building APIs using gRPC and/or REST \nExperience deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes and/or AWS \nProficiency with Docker, Podman or other container technologies \nExperience developing user interfaces with React \nQualifications \nBSc /MSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience \nAt SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.\nPlease note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. \nIn addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products.
