We are not allowing exceptions for this requirement. **Sophia is an industry-leading provider of low-cost, self-paced online general education courses that are transferable for college credit.\nAs a Sr. Full Stack Engineer, you will play a pivotal role responsible for the application design, development, testing and deployment of mission critical applications for SEI.\nThe Sr. Full Stack Engineer is responsible for the design and development of modifications to our custom developed Sophia application. This person will work closely with business analysts, key users, and the project team to assess business needs and determine/implement technology solutions using an agile methodology.\nThis person must have skills in converting specifications and procedures of moderate to high complexity into application and software solutions. This person will also have experience developing in all tiers of an application and must possess knowledge of object-oriented programming techniques and patterns and how to apply them in variety application environments.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nAdhere to and promote Agile development methods, including Test Driven Development and setup of automated build environments\nRecommend technical approaches that will help to deliver reliable an efficient code\nWork within a fast-paced Agile development environment\nDesign and develop robust solutions\nCollaborate with project team members and other information technology colleagues to create future product iterations from defined requirements.\nParticipate in and develop new software releases, work with QA in creating test plans, and assists in creating implementation plans.\nTroubleshoot and recommend solutions to existing production issues.\nProvide level 3 support of development after implementation of enterprise applications.\nParticipates in the ongoing development of technical best practices\nJob Skills:\nStrong proficiency in Ruby\nStrong proficiency in JavaScript and Front End Frameworks\nExperience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud architectures\nDatabases (Relational and NoSQL)\nExperience writing complex SQL queries\nResponsive design patterns\nFamiliarity with Kubernetes & Docker\nCI/CD pipelines\nVersion control\nAgile\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills.\nStrong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.\nStrong time management and organizational skills.\nWork Experience:\nFive plus (5+) years experience in web application design, development, and implementation.\nFive plus (5+) years experience with the following required: Ruby, JavaScript, Responsive Web Design\n2 plus (2+) years of working with AWS Infrastructure\nExperience with Test Driven Development, Automation, AWS, Jira\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in a related field preferred\nCertificates, licenses and registrations:\nAWS certifications are a plus\nOther:\nMust be able to travel up to 10% of the time.\nMust be able to lift 25 lbs.\nTypical office setting.\nMobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.\nTravel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.\nMust be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.\nAccess information using a computer.\nEffectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.\nEffectively cope with stressful situations.\nStrong mental acuity.\nRegular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.\nOther essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.\nSEI offers a comprehensive package of benefits to employees scheduled 30 hours or more per week.
