This role will support the class leading NexGen ATMS Program to upgrade the operational system.\nDescription:\nThe System Integration Engineer is responsible for the integration of software and hardware components within a complex software centric ATM system. The role involves coordinating and executing integration activities, troubleshooting system issues and ensuring the various components are working seamlessly together while satisfying functional and performance requirements. Working within an Integrated Product Team, the role may also involve Verification and Validation activities.\nResponsibilities:\nConduct the successful integration and the test of incremental software releases for systems and/or subsystems, in accordance with the schedule.\nManage and/or contribute to the setup of environments to facilitate the integration, testing and acceptance activities required by the program. Provide instruction on the setup of environments to support validation activities.\nDefine and/or contribute to testing activities across multiple platforms (regression, interface, simulation scenarios and test tools) to support project milestones and deadlines\nAble to analyse System/Subsystem technical and functional issues, ensuring they are identified early, captured fully and logged according to internal processes.\nTo collaborate with System, Subsystem and Infrastructure teams to ensure that the integration activities are in line with the design and specifications\nOutput documentation and engineering artefacts (E.g. System Integration Test Documentation) with the expected level of compliance (functional, performance, robustness, security and quality) that are aligned with internal configuration management processes.\nProduce scripts in order to automate system administration tasks.\nManage and/or implement test & measuring tools used for system performance, loading and response-time assessment\nProvide technical support to junior integrators and the V&V teams\nSupport Technical Leads and WPM through:\nMaking recommendations on strategies to improve performance or productivity\nIdentify risks, and proposing effective solution early and executing mitigation actions\nProviding input into the planning and coordination of program integration activities\nWork directly with the customer and internal integration training (as required)\nIdentify risks, and propose effective solutions; execute mitigation actions and report on outcomes / cost savings and residual risks\nAuthoring and/or reviewing documentation and documentation updates\nPromote knowledge sharing ensuring that work is captured sufficiently for re-use across projects\nFollowing processes and practices and contribute to their improvement\n Qualifications:\nDegree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or relevant experience\nEssential Experience:\n3+ years minimum experience holding similar positions integrating complex software-centric real-time systems\nAbility to understand the structure of and troubleshoot Virtualisation Platforms/Operating Systems (Clients/Servers): 3+ years \nLinux/Unix Operating Systems, SNMP Services, RSYSLOG\nWindows Operating systems\nVMWare\nScripting: Python, Shell, XML: 3+ years\nDevOps and Automation Tools: Ansible, Jenkins\nConfiguration Management: GIT (Bitbucket), JIRA\nCybersecurity: LDAP, AD, PKI\nNetwork Protocols and technologies: SNMP, UDP, TCP, IP\nDebugging tools e.g. Wireshark\nInfrastructure monitoring tools\nAptitude to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment with colleagues based in remote sites or other countries.\nA positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.\nAbility to effectively communicate complex engineering issues and concepts both verbally and written -
