This position requires collaboration with team members, effective communication with clients, supervising and mentoring junior staff, and maintaining deadlines while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.\nLocation & Work Arrangement: This position offers flexibility, with a strong preference for candidates located in or near Wilmington, North Carolina. Experience working with construction industry clients is highly preferred.\nYour Impact (Essential Duties):\nReview complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns; prepare highly complex returns as needed\nFoster and develop meaningful client relationships, addressing tax issues and coordinating related entity filings\nPerform detailed reviews and provide feedback to ensure high-quality work\nReview quarterly and annual accounting procedures to support tax preparation\nAnalyze organizational structures for tax impacts and ensure accurate filings\nPrepare estimated tax liabilities and provide strategic tax planning\nSupervise, train, and mentor team members, conducting regular performance reviews\nResearch and document complex tax issues, presenting guidance and solutions\nCommunicate tax planning solutions with clients and other professionals involved in the client relationship\nCommunicate effectively with clients and team members on projects and deadlines\nContribute to team efforts and participate in ongoing professional development; stay updated on tax laws and best practices\nManage engagements, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines\nPerform other duties and displays flexibility to take on a variety of responsibilities assigned by firm leadership \nMeet annual billable hour and other targets to fulfill individual performance and overall firm productivity\nYour Background:\n5-10 years of experience in tax preparation\nCPA license or eligible\nBachelor’s degree in accounting or related field\nExpertise in tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements\nAbility to adapt to tax law changes and provide strategic tax planning\nProficiency in tax preparation software and related tools\nStrong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills\nExcellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy in financial and tax work\nAnalytical skills to address and resolve complex tax issues\nFull-time commitment and flexibility to work beyond regular hours to meet team deadlines\nWhy Choose Us?\nAt Sorren, we’re invested in your growth-both personally and professionally.
