You’ll work closely with our plant scientists, data experts, and software engineers. Together, you’ll turn real cultivation challenges into data-driven solutions. Depending on your project, you may run greenhouse experiments, analyze data, or interview growers and industry experts.\nThis isn’t a lab-coat research role. We want someone who understands the greenhouse and enjoys working with plants. The data part grows with you, and we support you throughout. No advanced coding is expected.\n* Possible projects: we’ll shape your project together at the start, based on your interests and our priorities. To show the range, possible topics include:\nStrawberry plant registration and harvest forecasting\n\nLeaf area index: refining how we calculate it\n\nMulti-channel LED lighting: how light recipes can improve plant health and yield\n\nProduct development: building custom calculations and workflows for growers\n\n* These are examples, not a fixed list.\nWhat you’ll gain\nReal exposure to how commercial growers make decisions\n\nHigh ownership: you’ll see how your work connects to the tools growers use\n\nHands-on experience with greenhouse research and real-world crop data\n\nExperience working with AI tools in a scientific setting\n\nMentorship from plant scientists and data specialists\n\nSkills that transfer to agtech, applied research, and data-driven plant science\n\nRequirements\nWho we’re looking for\nYou’re a Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field\n\nYou have practical experience growing vegetables, ideally in a production greenhouse, through an earlier internship or your studies\n\nYou understand how plants grow and develop in a commercial setting\n\nYou like working with data, and you’re curious about coding. Experience with data analysis tools or programming is a plus\n\nYou enjoy using AI tools, or you’re keen to learn. We use them every day in our work\n\nYou’re excited to bring your practical knowledge into a software team\n\nYou’re comfortable working in English\n\nYou live in the Netherlands and are enrolled at a Dutch university for the whole internship\n\nYou have a driver’s license that’s valid in the Netherlands, as you’ll visit greenhouses around the country regularly\n\nYou’re available for at least 4 months, at least 3 days a week\n\nYou can work from our Amsterdam office at least 2 days a week (Monday and Thursday are our office days)\n\nWhat we offer\n€830 per month internship compensation (based on 40 hours a week, pro rata for fewer days)\n\nA MacBook for the duration of your internship\n\nA hybrid setup: part from home, part from our Amsterdam office at B.
