We are laser focused on specific technologies in the healthcare and life science industries: Healthcare technology, artificial intelligence, and healthcare interoperability.\nAbout the Role\nOur client runs a data platform for the specialty pharmacy market and is standing up a new data engineering team to onboard customers. You'll be the first engineer on that team: the senior anchor who sets the technical standards and guides the intermediate and junior engineers who join after you.\nYou'll build and enhance ETL code on AWS that ingests partner data, transforms it reliably, and delivers it to customers, including through Snowflake data sharing\nWhat You’ll Do\nAct as the technical anchor for a new team: set the coding, testing and pipeline standards later hires will follow\n\nMentor and onboard the intermediate and junior engineers who join after you\n\nBuild, enhance and maintain ETL pipelines on AWS, primarily with AWS Glue, Python and SQL\n\nCustomize existing pipelines for each new customer implementation\n\nIngest and normalize data files from pharmacy and healthcare data partners\n\nDeliver curated data to customers through Snowflake and Snowflake data sharing\n\nDesign pipelines that handle protected health information safely: access controls, encryption, de-identification and audit trails\n\nWork with Business Analysts and client stakeholders to turn data specs into working pipelines, and explain technical trade-offs clearly\n\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of data engineering experience building and owning production ETL/ELT pipelines\n\nStrong SQL and Python\n\nHands-on AWS Glue experience, plus the surrounding AWS data stack (S3, IAM, Step Functions or similar orchestration)\n\nWorking experience with Snowflake\n\nExperience working with healthcare data in production\n\nUnderstanding of healthcare data regulation (HIPAA in the US) and how it shapes engineering: PHI handling, minimum-necessary access, de-identification, encryption and audit logging\n\nStrong communication skills in English: explains technical decisions to US client stakeholders and documents work clearly\n\nTrack record of mentoring engineers or setting technical direction on a team\n\nNice to Have\nSnowflake data sharing (Secure Data Sharing, Snowflake Marketplace) or Delta Sharing\n\nSpecialty pharmacy data experience (dispense, patient status, hub and claims data)\n\nExperience with partner file feeds (SFTP, flat files, schema validation)\n\nExperience as the first or founding engineer on a new team\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong and empathetic leadership.\n\nProven client-facing experience.\n\nExcellent communication skills.\n\nStrong expectation management abilities.\n\nStrategic mindset with a solution-oriented approach and strong decision-making skills.\n\nWhat We Offer\nPermanent contract\nLearning and continuous growth environment \nBenefits package focused on health and well-being \nCompetitive salary based on experience\n Apply only if you reside in Ecuador or Colombia\nAt Source Meridian, you’ll be part of a high-impact tech-health company, building products that truly make a difference.\nIf you meet the profile -
