Bring your talents to a new streamlined energy company, dedicated to operational, commercial and safety excellence as we pursue our critical purpose of delivering the energy people need.\nThe Opportunity:\nSouth Bow is seeking a Facility Support Summer Student beginning May 2027 for a 4 month work term to support the US Asset Operations team in the safe, reliable, and environmentally responsible operation and maintenance of crude oil pump stations and associated pipeline facilities.\nThe student will not perform safety-sensitive, regulated, energized, or operator qualified work independently. Work will be completed under the direction and supervision of qualified company personnel.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nPump Station & Operations Support\nAssist qualified technicians with routine pump station inspections and general facility checks.\nLearn the purpose and basic operation of crude oil pipeline equipment, including pumps, valves, actuators, piping, instrumentation, and associated station equipment.\nAssist with visual inspections for leaks, corrosion, abnormal equipment conditions, housekeeping issues, and other observable concerns.\nImmediately report unusual conditions, leaks, odors, alarms, equipment damage, or potential hazards to the supervising employee.\nHelp organize tools, materials, supplies, spare parts, and maintenance areas.\nMaintenance Support\nUnder direct supervision, assist with appropriate non-qualified maintenance activities such as:\nBasic equipment cleaning.\nFacility and equipment housekeeping.\nPreparing tools and materials for maintenance.\nAssisting with routine inspection activities.\nUpdating equipment identification, labels, or records as assigned.\nSafety & Environmental Responsibilities\nParticipate in safety orientations, tailboards/job briefings, and applicable safety meetings.\nFollow all company safety policies, procedures, PPE requirements, and site-specific rules.\nMaintain awareness of crude oil hazards and potential sources of ignition, understanding when to stop work and contact a qualified employee.\nMaintain good housekeeping around buildings, equipment, access roads, and work areas.\nSupport proper waste segregation and disposal practices.\nAdministrative & Technical Support\nAssist with updating maintenance records and equipment documentation.\nHelp organize drawings, manuals, procedures, and equipment records.\nAssist with inventory and material counts.\nParticipate in appropriate operations and maintenance training.\nMinimum Requirements:\nActively enrolled in a post-secondary program or technical school focused on Engineering, Science, Trades, Instrumentation, or related discipline.\nMust provide transcripts upon application.\nComplete pre-employment medical screening including drug and alcohol testing.\nStrong commitment to workplace safety.\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a field team.\nBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.\nAbility to perform assigned outdoor work in varying weather conditions.\nAbility to wear required PPE.\nAbout our business\nSouth Bow's existing oil & liquids pipeline infrastructure connects Alberta crude oil supplies to U.S. refining markets in Illinois, Oklahoma, Texas and the U.S. Gulf Coast.We remain committed to meeting the energy needs of North Americans today, while advancing our Liquids Pipelines System for the demands of the future.
