This role works closely with contractors, subcontractors, project teams, and internal stakeholders to help ensure construction is delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.\nThe position will coordinate activities across process facilities and supporting infrastructure, including surface infrastructure, roads, dams, water treatment facilities, power infrastructure, maintenance and administrative buildings, and other onsite and offsite works.\nKey areas of responsibility include contractor coordination, construction planning and scheduling, progress reporting, health and safety, environmental compliance, quality, community relations, logistics, and construction performance. This role is based at the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona.\nOther key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:\nManage and coordinate site construction contractors and subcontractors on a daily basis.\nEnsure construction activities and services are performed in accordance with S32 environmental and community relations policies, plans, and commitments.\nAssist with the preparation of Sourcing Strategies for major works packages as required\nPrepare daily, monthly, and quarterly construction and progress reports.\nReviews and provides input to project construction schedules\nImplement remedial recovery action as required\nEnsure compliance with S32 Change Management processes.\nCoordinate the timely delivery of construction services to internal stakeholders.\nProvides input to contractor risk assessments\nEnsure that S32 Virtual Design and Construction initiatives are executed in accordance with applicable S32 technology objectives\nMonitor VDC and BXP technology objectives utilizing the S32 approved VDC and BXP metrics\nWorks with Project Services to ensure that equipment and material deliveries are coordinated and ensure that Care & Perseveration requirements are correctly implemented and documented\nOrganizes and oversees the maintenance and safe, effective utilization of tools, equipment, supplies, and inventories\nAssists with the compilation of construction documentation for upcoming work packages\nIdentifies contractor performance issues and works internal stakeholders to resolve issues\nEnsures compliance with applicable regulatory and building code requirements including Federal, State, and Local\nEnsures conformity with industry codes of practice and standards\nPerforms other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager\nABOUT YOU\nYou are an experienced construction professional who brings strong field leadership, technical knowledge, and the ability to coordinate multiple contractors and stakeholders in a complex project environment. You are safety-focused, collaborative, organized, and comfortable working across disciplines and cultures.\nYou will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline; relevant trade qualifications and/or equivalent experience may also be considered.\n\nMinimum 5 years of large-scale mining construction site management\nDemonstrated visible field safety leadership and an ability to drive safety and performance excellence\n\nStrong knowledge of construction methods, mechanical installation, and trade practices\n\nStrong and effective communication and engagement skills\nRelationship building skills: demonstrated empathy, emotional intelligence and cross-cultural effectiveness with the ability to achieve consensus and build alignment cooperatively\nDemonstrated commitment to maintaining high standards of professional and ethical conduct.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.\n\nStrong English language written and oral communication skills\nExperience coordinating contractors, subcontractors, and union and non-union craft labor.\n\nExperience with project logistics, construction contracts, and vendor service contracts.\n\nExperience working with teams and interacting with customers\nExperience working in a cross-cultural setting\nProven track record of developing and maintaining a strong safety culture.\n\nExperience with Building Information Management systems\nMust be able to drive a company vehicle and be covered under company insurance\nSouth32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
