Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.\nFlights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp-the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.\nWHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS\n26 weeks full-paid, or 52 weeks half-paid parental leave for primary carers\n14% superannuation contributions \nAnnual short-term incentive bonus that recognises both your individual performance and the overall success of the business \nABOUT THE ROLE\nThis is a permanent opportunity offering a an 8/6, day shift only roster, FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane.\nAs the Engineer Structural you will be responsible for ensuring structures are stable, compliant and fit for purpose across new projects, upgrades and remedial works.\nOther key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:\nDevelop designs and calculations for steel, concrete, timber and other systems.\nConduct site inspections to verify construction quality and identify issues.\nAssess existing structures and recommend repair, strengthening or replacement.\nPrepare drawings, specifications, project records and technical reports.\nABOUT YOU\nYou will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:\nStructural engineering experience within an operating asset. \nRelevant field, industry or organisational experience. \nKnowledge of current occupational health, safety and environmental legislation. \nAbility to produce detailed drawings, deliver presentations and facilitate workshops.\nQualifications for this position are:\nQualification in Civil or Structural Engineering. \nRegistered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).\nSouth32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
