El proyecto tiene el potencial de ayudar a impulsar el futuro energético limpio del país, reforzar la cadena de suministro nacional de minerales esenciales, hacer crecer la economía local y mejorar la calidad de vida en el condado de Santa Cruz y en las comunidades aledañas para las generaciones venideras.\nWHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS\nAnnual short-term incentive bonus that recognizes both your individual performance and the overall success of the business.\nWhen you choose to contribute more into your retirement savings, South32 will match it up to a certain percentage.\nSouth32 provides you with 4 weeks paid time off.\n12 weeks full-paid parental leave for primary carers and 2 weeks full-paid parental leave for secondary carers\nABOUT THE ROLE\nThe Procurement Specialist provides end-to-end procurement support to project and operational readiness teams, ensuring goods, materials, equipment, and consumables are sourced and delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with business requirements.\nIn this role, you will lead and support procurement activities across the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, category management, supplier onboarding and due diligence, RFQ/RFP processes, commercial evaluations, negotiations, purchase orders, expediting, cost reconciliation, asset management, and supplier performance.\nYou will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage procurement and supply risks, support project schedules, and deliver value in alignment with South32 values and Hermosa project objectives.\nThis role spends time in Tucson and at the Hermosa Project site in Patagonia, AZ.\nOther key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:\nExecute pre-award procurement activities for goods and materials, including preparation of RFQs/RFPs, tendering processes, bid package issuance, and supplier clarifications.\nPerform commercial evaluation, clarification, and adjudication of vendor proposals and support negotiation and recommendation for award.\nParticipate in procurement and supply risk reviews, analysis and communicating risks associated with material availability, lead times, and supplier performance that may impact project or operational outcomes.\nPerform post-award procurement activities including purchase order issuance, supplier onboarding, expediting, and ensuring compliance with delivery and quality requirements (including warranty management).\nManage vendor relationships through progress meetings, invoice validation, change order management, and supplier performance reporting (KPIs, delivery reliability, quality compliance, claims management, etc.), through to final contract or purchase order closeout.\nBuild credibility with suppliers and stakeholders, driving alignment to agreed sourcing strategies and ensuring value delivery in line with South32 values and Hermosa project goals.\nEnsure the company’s code of business conduct, health, safety, and sustainability values are communicated and adhered to by our vendors and service providers.\nContribute to the development and continuous improvement of procurement and materials management processes.\nABOUT YOU\nYou will bring a combination of procurement expertise, commercial judgment, stakeholder management, and strong attention to detail. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities while building productive relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.\nYou will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:\nBachelor’s Degree in either Supply Chain, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.\nCertifications such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified in Supply Management (CSM), or other recognized supply chain certifications considered an asset.\nMinimum 3 years’ experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain in construction, mining, or heavy industry\nExperience with Blanket Purchase Agreements, Master Supply Agreements, Catalogue Agreements etc highly regarded\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Aconex, Contract Management/ERP systems\nPrevious contract & procurement applications experience such as SAP, Ariba, CCMS, etc.\nProven track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture\nAbility to work under pressure, maintain composure, set priorities, and work with a project team\nMaintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct\nExcellent attention to detail and task prioritization\nStrong English language written and oral communication skills\nSpanish language skills highly regarded\nEffective communication with other departments and leadership\nSouth32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
