You will be responsible for safely executing maintenance plans, leading and developing maintenance personnel, and ensuring equipment reliability through effective planning, coordination, and continuous improvement.\nWorking closely with Operations, Planning, and Maintenance teams, you will oversee the execution of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with safety standards, OEM requirements, and company procedures. This role is site-based position located at the Hermosa Project near Patagonia, Arizona\nKey Responsibilities\nSafety Leadership\nPromote and maintain a strong safety culture by ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.\nLead by example through visible safety leadership and active participation in safety meetings, inspections, and risk assessments.\nCoordinate and conduct workplace inspections, safety meetings, and corrective actions as required.\nEnsure team members have the training, tools, and resources necessary to perform work safely and effectively.\nMaintenance Execution & Planning\nLead the safe and efficient execution of planned maintenance activities for fixed plant and mobile equipment.\nIntegrate weekly and monthly maintenance plans into effective daily shift plans.\nCommunicate daily work priorities and ensure maintenance activities are completed as scheduled.\nCollaborate closely with Maintenance Planners to optimize schedules and minimize impacts to future maintenance plans.\nProvide detailed feedback and documentation to support ongoing planning and scheduling improvements.\nMonitor work in progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions when necessary.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nProvide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and support to maintenance personnel.\nSet clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and equipment care.\nConduct employee performance evaluations and support employee development and training initiatives.\nAddress performance concerns, documentation requirements, and employee relations matters in partnership with Human Resources and site leadership.\nFoster a collaborative, respectful, and high-performing work environment.\nCommunication & Coordination\nMaintain effective communication with Operations, Planning, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to ensure alignment of priorities.\nCollect, document, and communicate accurate maintenance information in a timely manner.\nParticipate in planning and coordination meetings within assigned areas of responsibility.\nUtilize SAP and Microsoft Office applications to manage work execution, reporting, and documentation.\nContinuous Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to improve maintenance efficiency, equipment reliability, and work execution processes. \nSupport implementation of maintenance best practices and adherence to OEM recommendations.\nAssist in resolving operational and maintenance issues through effective troubleshooting and problem-solving.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nABOUT YOU\nYou are a hands-on maintenance leader who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment. You have a strong commitment to safety, enjoy developing teams, and can effectively coordinate maintenance activities to support safe and reliable operations.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nMinimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in an industrial, mining, processing, or heavy equipment environment.\nAbility to pass a background check and drug screening.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nWorking knowledge of maintenance management systems; SAP experience preferred.\nKnowledge of supervisory practices and team leadership principles.\nStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve day-to-day issues involving equipment, materials, methods, and work processes.\nWorking knowledge of applicable MSHA regulations and safety requirements.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to effectively coordinate work across multiple stakeholders and priorities.\nSouth32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
