Either on Chattahoochee Projects or North Ga Projects\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nThis position is responsible for all TSS managed project aspectsat all GPC Hydro plantsin the Chattahoochee River system or North Ga River System:\nMorgan Falls\n\nBartlett’s Ferry\n\nGoat Rock\n\nOliver\n\nNorth highlands\n\nFlint River\n\nRiverview/Langdale/Crow hop\n\nTallulah Falls\n\nYonah\n\nBurton\n\nNacoochee\n\nThis includes responsibility for all activities associated with engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start up, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project. The successful candidate will be responsible for the scope, budget, implementation plan, and schedule for each site necessary to complete the project while meeting project goals.\nThis position will have direct responsibility and oversight for the project site, construction activities, contract management, cost management, and contractor management for all project sites. The successful candidate will be expected to lead a team of professionals at all sites for the successful completion of these projects.\nThis position will be filled as a Project/Construction Manager - Level 7 and will report to the GPC Hydro Project Manager.\nPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation:\nB.S. in Engineering, Construction, or another related field preferred\nProject Management Professional or similar accreditation/professional license beneficial\nExperience required in project management as related to engineering, procurement, construction, and startup\nConstruction management experience or major construction project required \nExperience on hydro projects is preferred\nAbility to manage outside contractor resources\nLeadership role directing activities of direct reports or team\nPower plant operation or prior assignments within a power plant is a plus\nExperience with managing project scope, budgets, and schedules\nExperience with performance management\nResolution of issues relative to contractors and contract issues\nAssessing and mitigating risk on a continuous basis\nMust be alert for changing conditions on the project site and effectively and efficiently manage these changes\nExperience:\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nKnowledge of the Southern Company Generation Project Delivery Process (PDP) is strongly desired\nKnowledge required of engineering, procurement and construction processes\nMust possess strong project management and organizational skills\nMust possess the ability to build strong working relationships with internal departments, plant management, and other project interfaces\nMust have the ability to lead a strong, diverse team\nMust possess the skills to balance customer satisfaction priorities with those deriving from project and compliance strategy restraints\nAbility to coordinate outside resources as required and integrate them into Southern Company processes\nAbility to manage multiple project and activities simultaneously and effectively prioritize\nStrong communication skills, both verbal and written are required\nMust be flexible, adapting easily to changing priorities\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\nExpected travel will be approximately 25%\nMajority of travel will be localized within the Georgia Power Hydro Generating Fleet - Columbus, GA to North Atlanta (all plants are within a 3-hour radius)\nTravel will be mostly day-trip and mileage will be covered by company (i.e. rental car, expense reimbursement, etc.)\nBEHAVIORAL ATTRIBUTES\nConsistent demonstration of Southern Company Values -
