Responsibilities for all associated activities with Engineering, contracting, procurement, installation, start up, closure, and maintaining appropriate project controls throughout the project. The successful candidate will have authority and be held accountable for developing a project scope, budget, and schedule as well as an implementation plan for completing assigned projects while meeting the project goals.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)\nEducation/Experience Preferences:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline stronglypreferred, but not required.\nProject Management certification (PMP), or the ability to obtain within 1 year.\nAdvanced degrees, Professional Engineer (PE) license, and other degrees/certifications will be considered based upon the candidate’s experience.\nMinimum three (3) years of nuclear plant experience in Engineering, Maintenance or Operations or equivalent military experience\nMinimum three (3) years utilizing project management type skills\nBuild and sustain relationships across all levels of the organization including executive management and external stakeholders such as the NRC, INPO, etc.\nHave a working knowledge of project control techniques, design, work management, and procurement processes.\nFocus on understanding the business and leveraging that knowledge to partner with management to identify and monitor strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks, including emerging trends.\nThe ability to solve problems and make sound judgments, based on experience and proper risk evaluation tools, to provide timely and appropriate resolutions to issues that might impact personnel safety, plant performance, budget, and project execution.\nThe ability to communicate issues and drive problem resolution through various levels of management.\nAbility to effectively interface, build, and sustain relationships with other departments.\nWorking knowledge of plant operations, design engineering and maintenance practices.\nThorough knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.\nExcellent written and oral communications skills.\nDemonstrates Southern Company Values -
