Relocation assistance may be available if needed based on the location of the successful candidate.\nGrade Level: Exempt 6\nJob Summary: The Engineering Team Leader will be responsible for providing leadership, direction and performance management for distribution activities to direct reports within the Savannah Operating Headquarters. They will provide safety leadership, budget management, construction scheduling, and compliance measures where needed and contribute to reliability and capital improvement strategy in the Distribution Area. The Engineering Team Leader will be a Team Leader with primary responsibilities of supporting, developing, and training new talent for the Distribution Area. In addition to performance management opportunities, the successful candidate will be expected to support engineering Co-Ops and promote strategic thinking about the overall workforce. The successful candidate will also be a technical expert, leading engineering on a large scale, high impact projects in the area, while demonstrating world class customer service. In addition, they will be expected to participate in and lead Distribution Area wide initiatives, projects and committees. This role will participate in the Supervisor on-call rotation and lead local storm restoration efforts, as well as on system and off system storm events.\nEducation Requirements\nEngineering degree preferred\nProfessional Engineering license a plus\nMBA or master’s degree is a plus\nExperience\nExcellent safety record and knowledge of Section “0”\nThree or more years of Distribution Engineering experience in a power utility company is required\nMust have proven Time Management experience involving multiple projects and customer requests.\nExperience in SERP restoration efforts required\nStorm team leadership experience preferred\nExperience with engineering design, construction and maintenance, compliance, managing manpower, reviewing job estimates, and asset management in a power utility company\nExperience with IBEW covered personnel, system design experience, and serving on committees at a statewide level is preferred\nPrevious experience designing and presenting large and complex projects in a power utility company to higher level management for approval is preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nThe position requires an in-depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems as well as distribution requirements, practices and procedures\nAbility to act as a technical specialist is required\nCustomer service focused and with the ability to negotiate to match customer needs with company requirements\nBroad understanding of the company’s operations, policies, and procedures \nStrong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills\nWorking knowledge of TCMS, ARCOS, CSS, JETS, and strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office products\nMust be able to lead and develop a diverse workforce, maximizing team effectiveness, set high expectations of those around them and hold employees accountable for those expectations\nMust have the ability to work through customer concerns and communicate resolution to all parties\nBehavioral Attributes\nDemonstrates all aspects of Our Values behaviors\nDemonstrates personal commitments to Safety Excellence and management of critical risks\nSelf-Directed with strong initiative\nDemonstrates an ability to be entrusted with closehold information as it relates to direct reports or other items not for general consumption\nDisplays an attitude of service and commitment\nIs a leader among their peers\nDesire and ability for continued career growth and upward potential\nAbility to be a change agent for the organization\nThis position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle.
