The focus is on value creation by engaging in analysis, identification of issues, support of the Financial Plan and implementation of strategy with timely and accurate management reporting.\nThis position may be filled as Financial Analyst II, III, or Senior. Individuals who demonstrate advanced skills in terms of work experience, education, and certifications may be eligible for the more advanced position.\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES BY COMPETENCY\nFunctional Expertise:\nAssist in maintenance and preparation of corporate 5-yr Financial Plan and annual budget.\n\nAssist in reforecast process throughout the year (3+9, 6+6, and 9+3 reforecasts)\n\nAssess financial performance against target, including risks and opportunities to the Plan.\n\nMaintain and assist in development of corporate UI Financial Model, along with other financial models and tools (including excel and Oracle Planning).\n\nDevelop and execute strategies to meet the company’s overall financial objectives.\n\nAssist in Treasury related activities including liquidity forecasting, issuing long-term debt and rating agency metric analysis.\n\nDevelop management presentations to communicate various financial updates.\n\nSupport rate case preparation and regulatory strategy.\n\nAssist with the development of the company’s capital forecast\n\nBusiness Acumen:\nAnalyzes financial and non-financial data to help drive business decisions.\n\nArticulates results, variances and key drivers effectively.\n\nDevelops recommendations and alternatives to meet objectives.\n\nDemonstrates knowledge of the business and industry in analyses.\n\nUnderstands basics of capital expenditure forecasting.\n\nEngagement:\nFosters relationships with managers, peers, customers and is a team player.\n\nCommunicates effectively with all levels of business.\n\nInfluences business decisions by sharing analyses and expertise.\n\nDriving Results:\nMonitors results versus plan and works with business leaders to achieve desired results.\n\nIdentifies process and areas for improvements.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation, Certifications/Licenses: \nRequired:\nBS/BA degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Business or other requiring application of analytical techniques.\n\nPreferred:\nEnergy company experience.\n\nRelated Work Experience:\nFINANCIAL ANALYST II - GRADE 3\nRequired:\n1+ year experience in financial planning, financial analysis, regulatory planning, and/or financial strategy/valuation or related fields.\n\nPreferred:\nUtility, natural gas or other energy industry experience.\n\nFINANCIAL ANALYST III - GRADE 4\nRequired:\n2+ years experience in financial planning, financial analysis, regulatory planning, and/or financial strategy / valuation or related fields.\n\nExperience with financial analysis / valuation models (Excel or database-driven models) and the ability to troubleshoot issues.\n\nPreferred:\nBasic understanding of utility Finance (revenue requirements) and/or capital forecasting.\n\nUtility, natural gas or other energy industry experience.\n\nSENIOR FINANCIAL ANALYST -
