To keep up with the growing demand for electricity, we're working to deploy emerging technologies and strategically invest in our grid to reliably and affordably serve our customers.\nThis position is critical to advancing Georgia Power Company's integration of emerging grid technologies to support customers' evolving energy needs. This role will own the technical direction for the identification, evaluation, development, and deployment of advanced grid solutions, including support for major initiatives such as assessments and technical reporting for regulatory and government requirements. This position will also coordinate cross-functionally with technical business units and planners to validate and inform elements of the overall Grid Enhancing Technologies (“GETs”) strategy, and process to ultimately drive adoption of these innovative technologies across our business.\nMAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES\nLead coordination for the technical evaluation and deployment of emerging grid solutions, with a particular focus on Grid-Enhancing Technologies (GETs).\nMove grid-enhancing technologies from concept to operational reality by providing technical evaluations and engineering evidence to support utility adoption.\nProvide technical rigor to frameworks and processes for GETs integration, ensuring alignment with regulatory commitments, Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), and documentation requirements.\nIntegrate GET solutions into the Southern Company transmission expansion planning process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and alternative analysis requirements.\nOwn technical value proposition for solutions that address system thermal and voltage constraints and evaluate effectiveness and reliability with technology providers to support utility adoption.\nCoordinate the technical evaluation, assessment, and reporting of projects, with a focus on equipment and solutions ready for deployment.\nTranslate technical findings into clear, compelling reports and executive summaries that inform enterprise decision-making.\nCollaborate cross-functionally across Southern Company to ensure consistent execution and understanding of emerging grid technologies.\nRepresent Georgia Power internally and externally to communicate technical efforts and build strategic partnerships.\nJOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)\nBachelor's degree required;
