The successful candidate will support the Site Licensing Manager in the overall compliance interface with NRC at the plant sites and will serve as an interface with the NRC Site Resident Inspectors and Plant Management when the Site Licensing Manager is not on-site. This involves keeping abreast of industry licensing issues and the potential impacts to the plant. This position will receive strategic direction and functional support from the respective Site Licensing Manager, and will report directly to the Site Licensing Manager.\nPrimary responsibilities include but are not limited to:\nSupports the Site Licensing Manager in advising the Site Support Director, Vice President and Plant Management on site-specific NRC licensing and compliance issues.\n\nInterfaces with the NRC Site Resident Inspectors.\n\nProvides engineering technical assistance to ensure that the design of HNP meets licensing requirements.\n\nMonitors site-specific Regulator Oversight Process (ROP) status and keeps the Site Support Director, Vice President and Plant Management briefed on status and issues related to ROP violations and cross-cutting issues.\n\nSupports NRC inspections to assure the plant is adequately prepared. In this capacity, the incumbent will become familiar with NRC inspection modules and inspection guidelines, enforcement procedures, and significance determination process (SDP) procedures.\n\nSupports operability and reportability determinations, prompts notifications, and development of Licensee Event Reports (LER).\n\nUnderstands the regulatory/licensing basis of the plant.\n\nProvides licensing support for other assigned duties.\n\nPerforms corrective action program coordinator duties for the Regulatory Affairs Department\n\nPlant Commitment management\n\nJob Experience and Education:\nBachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited college or university, or Professional Engineer license, is required.\n\nNuclear power plant experience involving licensing is desired.\n\nPlant specific knowledge is desire.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nWorking knowledge of nuclear power plant design and systems is desired.\n\nWorking knowledge of industry codes and standards, associated regulations, and design documentation sufficient to prepare licensing submittals and effective interpretations is desired.\n\nWorking knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations for supporting the licensing basis such as 10CFR50.59, 10CFR50.54(a/p/q) and 10CFR72.48 is desired.\n\nStrong technical writing skills required.\n\nAbility to maintain attention to details in written and spoken communication is required.\n\nAbility to communicate well, to make presentations to senior SNC management, and to build trusting relationships with the Site NRC Resident and NRC Inspectors.\n\nBehavioral Attributes:\nMust exhibit Southern Company Values - Safety First, Intentional Inclusion, Act With Integrity, Superior Performance\n\nDemonstrate initiative and ability to work independently\n\nOther Requirements\nOccasional travel required.\n\nAvailability for after-hours plant support.\n\nEmergency Response Organization support may be required.\n\nPlease note: This position will be filled at the level commensurate with the candidate's experience and work history.
