Responsible for the analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing of all plant equipment and performing all preventive maintenance to ensure the proper calibration of the process equipment and control instrumentation. Trains new LNG technicians as well as other plant personnel. Provides shift coverage for operators during operation and works at other plants when the need arises. Works with high pressure gas, cryogenic liquids (-260 degrees), high temperature machinery, high electrical voltage (4160 volts), combustion chambers and at elevated heights.\nRepresentative Duties and Responsibilities:\nMaintains and repairs equipment and controls (e.g. gas turbines, security/ surveillance systems, large industrial engines/compressors, generators, boilers, gas/air regulator, control valves, cooling fans, and smart transmitters)\nProvides proactive preventative maintenance (PM) activities (e.g. major engine/compressor overhauls, annual inspections, relief/control valve testing, switch calibrations). Must maintain records on computer system to ensure compliance with state, federal, and Company policies and regulations.\nTrouble shoots equipment and system problems (e.g. AC/DC circuits, computer-controlled loops, programming, ignition systems, leak repairs, hazard detection systems, thermal transfer, medium voltage (4160), low voltage, high temperature combustion chambers); repairs or replaces as required.\nOrders specialty replacement parts: research options (price, lead time); prepares quarterly maintenance budget. Performs fabrications and provides technical assistance to contractors during capital projects.\nMaintains LNG tanker systems and portable vaporization equipment (e.g. repairs leaks, calibrates instruments and trains field personnel companywide). Maintains tanker and hazardous materials endorsements.\nCommunicates maintenance techniques and procedures for State and Federal agencies, as well as company audits (internal engineering, safety, insurance and security).\nPrioritizes/plans PM’s to meet the needs of all the LNG plants\nPerforms inventory control functions and utilizing material management system.\nResponds to emergency call outs and demands of the LNG plant and/or Gas Control on 24/7 basis.\nMaintains availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime/extended hours.\nEducation and Experience:\nRequired:\nHigh school diploma or GED\n3-5 years experience maintaining and repairing industrial mechanical, electrical, electronic equipment and systems\nPreferred:\n2-3 years LNG Operator experience\n3-5 years experience in power generation and high voltage.\n3-5 years of control system experience\nAbility to read P&Is, CLDs, and SLDs\nOr\nEquivalent academic education and experience\nSkills:\nFunction Block Programming (Ladder Logic)\nMS Excel - basic proficiency\nMS Access - basic proficiency\nMS Word - basic proficiency\n7I Plant Maintenance System - intermediate proficiency\nStress management\nTroubleshooting skills in the industrial field\nForklift certification\nDOT 193 and NFPA 59A requirements (e.g. confined space entry, fire training)\nCertifications/Licenses:\nRequired:\nCompany driving test\nFire Fighting certification\nDOT physical examination including drug and alcohol screening\nForklift certification\nDOT 193 and NFPA 59A requirements (e.g. confined space entry, fire training)\nWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:\nCritical operation during extreme ambient temperatures (0 degrees to 100+ degrees)\nAbility to work safely at elevated heights (top of LNG tank)\nExposure to excessive heat, cold and noise\nDisclaimer: This information describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this job.
