We value dedication, continuous learning, and the relentless pursuit of security excellence.\nResponsibilities and Impact:\nDesign and develop advanced detection logic for SIEM platforms, EDR solutions, cloud security tools, AI-powered security systems, and network monitoring platforms to identify sophisticated cyber threats and malicious activities\nMap adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures using MITRE ATT&CK framework to create real-time security alerts and enhance organizational threat visibility\nContinuously tune and optimize detection rules to minimize false positives while maintaining high-fidelity threat detection capabilities, reducing alert fatigue for security analysts\nImplement Detection-as-Code methodologies by applying software development practices including version control, automated testing, peer reviews, and CI/CD pipelines to detection rule management\nValidate and test security defenses through collaboration with red teams and automated breach simulation tools to identify coverage gaps and improve detection effectiveness\nLead cross-functional initiatives to enhance S&P Global's security posture through innovative detection engineering approaches and mentorship of junior team members\nWhat We're Looking For:\nBasic Required Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience in security engineering roles\n5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity with at least 2+ years focused on detection engineering, threat hunting, or security operations\nProficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, along with query languages including SQL, SPL (Splunk), KQL (Microsoft Sentinel), or similar platforms\nStrong experience with security technologies such as SIEM platforms (including Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel), EDR solutions (such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender), and network security monitoring tools\nDemonstrated knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and ability to translate threat intelligence into actionable detection rules and security alerts\nExperience with log analysis, telemetry data interpretation, and understanding of data flows across networks, operating systems, cloud environments, and identity providers\nAdditional Preferred Qualifications:\nAdvanced certifications in cybersecurity such as GCIH, GCFA, CISSP, or cloud security certifications (including AWS Security, Azure Security, or Google Cloud Security)\nExperience implementing Detection-as-Code practices using version control systems (such as Git, GitLab, or Azure DevOps), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks for security rule deployment\nHands-on experience with threat hunting methodologies, red team exercises, or penetration testing to validate detection capabilities and identify security gaps\nKnowledge of AI and machine learning applications in cybersecurity, including anomaly detection, behavioral analysis, and automated threat classification systems\nCompensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):\nS&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $155,000.
