S&P Global is an American financial information company whose oldest predecessor was founded in 1860, and which took its present form through the 2022 merger with IHS Markit. Its most profitable business is the credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings, alongside market data and analytics through Market Intelligence, the index business behind the S&P 500, commodity price assessments through Platts, and Mobility, which owns the Carfax vehicle history service. Headquartered in New York and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it earns most of its revenue from subscriptions and recurring fees rather than transaction-linked ratings work.

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

14

The Team:

At S&P Global, our Financial Risk Analytics team provides state-of-the-art products and solutions to help financial institutions measure and manage their counterparty credit risk, market risk, and derivative valuation adjustments. This dynamic team leverages an innovative technology stack, including machine learning and big data solutions, to deliver scalable and precise products trusted by global financial institutions. This Sr. Specialist / Team Lead / Office Manager (G9) role is pivotal in supporting market expansion and contributing strategic insights to our sales and marketing teams within this specialized group, often performing work effectively under general guidance and direction.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Develop and execute a North America go-to-market strategy targeting buy-side institutions.
  • Originate new opportunities across Market Risk, Counterparty Credit Risk, xVA, and related analytics workflows.
  • Engage senior stakeholders across Risk, Front Office, Quant, and Technology teams.
  • Position solutions as complementary to existing infrastructure (e.g., benchmarking, validation, workflow enhancement).
  • Partner with product and sales teams to shape proposals and progress complex sales cycles.
  • Provide market intelligence to inform commercial and product strategy.
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

Compensation/Benefits Information: S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $169,000 to $260,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 15+ years of experience in capital markets, risk technology, or financial analytics business development.
  • Demonstrated track record selling or originating opportunities with North American buy-side institutions.
  • Strong domain knowledge in at least one of: Market Risk, CCR, xVA, or risk data infrastructure.
  • Established network within risk, trading, or quantitative functions.
  • Proven ability to drive consultative, solution-led engagements.
  • Highly proficient communication skills, both written and oral. Personally engaging.
  • Able to positively engage with, and contribute to, the wider global team.
  • We require all external candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Actively listens, seeking to understand other perspectives and concerns.
  • Actively participates and contributes towards team goals.
  • Uses previous experience to identify the appropriate course of action or to improve existing approaches.
  • Understands team’s goals and can bring new ideas to the forefront.
